Drives me crazy to think about how many times a single timely hit could have resulted in a win and the record could be much better

He's injured after getting hit by pitch April 28 and every day will go 0 for 4 with max exit velocity decreasing every day, max launch angle decreasing and days needed to fully recover increasing 2 days for every day he refuses to go on the disable list.   Now needs a month recovery and every day he plays add 2 days to that. 

Today - max exit velocity 85, max launch angle -8, time to recover 35 days.

Tomorrow - max exit velocity 83, max launch angle -10, time to recover 37 days.

With the offense struggling already a given and the injuries…..however, this team would still be hovering around .500 if not for blown saves cough out by Hoffman and terrible outing from Little early in the season

What happened with Macko?   Heard was here because they worked Varland and Rogers too much and one would have to be disabled?  Did that happened?  Or are they going to let Varland go 30 pitches again today and tomorrow in 2-1 and 4-2 losses then activate Macko?

Should have just used Hoffman in the 1st inning to know how many runs we needed to overcome.

Anything more than 3, forfeit the game.

but if Schneider doesn’t not have a Hoffman at his disposal then he will use another pitcher to be in that role, whoever that is

 

Hoffman costing us probably a once and life time World Series championship, is more than a sample size for the front office to look the other way.  But yet, still carried him to the next season and still uses him in high leverage situations, in which I agree with you.

Not DFA worthy yet, this is not like Chad Green where the underlying metrics were dogshit.

If you looked at Hoffman's numbers while blacking out the ERA, he looks like a good/decent reliever. Something weird is up with him, a combination of mental game, bad luck, not holding runners, and always pitching in 1-run or tie games.
