If Scherzer can come back and be decent, Lauer becomes a leftie reliever. Mantiply has an option... so tbey'll keep lauer i think.

If you want somebody to chase a slider off the plate, and ground out, he's your man.

SOLER - WHY THE f*** CANT VLAD DO THAT OCCASIONALLY.  WHAT THE HELL?

I guess he doesn't get to hit against Eric Lauer.  JEWSIC FUDGING CHRRRIIIST

HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?  How did Vlad lose his power again

22 years old 48 homers , easy power.  Driving them 450 into the night.  420 to the3 opposite 116.5 mph, 27 de3grees

27 years old - 84 mph -6 degrees

500 million 14 years,  -10 de3gresss 1 foot ground out, double play

I'd like to see him strike out looking and swinging more.

Like just spend a month, trying to be three true outcomes and see what happens. Get the A swing going in every count. Look for a pitch and its fine to strike out if you don't get it

These next 13 games might end our season if Vlady doesn’t start hitting.

13 games? not that many. If they get swept by TB it's over.

Junior Caminero   28 degrees 112 mph 450 feet HOMERUN Rays fans cheers

Aaron Judge 27 degrees 118 mph 460 feet HOMERUN Yankees fans cheers

Junior Caminero 22 degrees 108 mph pulled 390 feet HOMERUN Rays fans cheers

Aaron Judge 31 degrees 115 mph 448 feet HOMERUN Yankees fans cheers

what a battle, what thrills Yankees/Rays still tied for first.

Aaron Judge 25 degrees 105 mph 370 feet into the short portch?

Junior Caminero 18 degrees 340 feet right down the line!!!!

This is unbelievable show.  A pennant race for the ages.  A battle between titans.

And Vladimir Guerrero JR. 97 mph -1 degree double play to the short stop RAYS WIN!

And Vladimir Guerrero JR 102 mph -9 degree to the first basement YANKEES WIN!

What a pennant race, what a homerun race.

I think Vladdy is one of those infuriating players who oozes talent, but flatters to deceive.

You know he can turn it on, he has turned it on, but he doesn't do it consistently.

The maddening thing about it is there is no amount of coaching or pep talking that will help - if he decides he wants to do it, he'll do it, as we saw in the post season and we have seen in during his white hot streaks.

Is it a mental thing with him where he doesn't want the pressure of having to deliver consistently?

Or has the way the club has spoiled him and given him preferential treatment over the years created a certain mindset with him?

Who knows?

Goal.  1 month at least 40 strikeout, 20 walks.  20 hard swings at pitches down the middle.  If he goes .000 with 70 ks in the month so be it.

Its approach. If he couldn't handle pressure he wouldn't have been so good in the playoffs.

Good point, but we've seen him have similar stretches in the regular season too.

Yea i think he just is that kind of hitter. He will get white hot again with this approach with some subtle changes.

Its just not as valuable as he could be.

So am I the only one that would rather see what Pinango and McAdoo can do instead of Sanchez and Sosa? I imagine Lukes has to boot one of those two when he comes back.

I think the uncomfortable truth might be that they were cheating, or at least doing some aggressive sign stealing, in the playoffs. How else to explain Vlad?
