Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted May 9 Posted May 9 It's a small sample size but 0.3 fWAR and 160 wRC+ in 27 PA's for Pinango. My left eye is now twitching. Omar 1

Pinango isn't the team's best hitter but he was certainly one of the few performing at the plate. I'd much rather see the team jettison Sosa or option Schneider down to AAA instead but alas that wasn't in the cards. Spanky__99, RA Whiffleball and jaysblue 3
dancingmachine Verified Member Posted May 9 Posted May 9 What a dumb move. Pinango was hitting and Davis has an option and can't hit a beach ball at the moment. RA Whiffleball 1

harvey16 Verified Member Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Can't believe they optioned Pinango over Schneider. Davis has been horrible for basically 2 years now. He's a career .210 hitter. I don't care how likeable he is as a person. He's a s***** MLB player, we lost Leo Jiminez cause management wouldn't send him down and now Pinango who literally did everything he could to stay with the Jays is being sent down, to keep a guy hitting .127. Unreal!
Jaysman Verified Member Posted May 9 Posted May 9 I see why it’s a tough decision but it’s not one that can’t be undone - what happened to a meritocracy? Sent Schneider down and bring him back if Piñango slumps and Davis hits.
DownSouthBlueJay Verified Member Posted May 9 Posted May 9 I wanted pinango to stay too but I guess you can't have a bench full of lefties

DownSouthBlueJay Verified Member Posted May 9 Posted May 9 What is the update on lukes? Haven't heard many updates on him
bluejaysinternNo5 Verified Member Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Pinango going down shouldn't be a surprise. 27 PA of good production is nice but he still projects to be a below average hitter. If he's actually good he will get more playing time in the future. Not like he's a top 10 prospect in baseball or anything. neverbeenhere 1

Unreal! Schneider was an excellent bench bat last season as he produced a 127 wRC+. Maybe your standards are different but I think that's far better than "horrible". Spanky__99 1
