I would rather see Barger get the shot against a lefty instead of Straw being in there but having Bam Bam and Jesus ready as pinch hitters will be awesome.

 

Also, Bam Bam and Jesus wouod be a great band name.

Yeah, I was going to post the same. Springs isn't exactly a world beater. Would have liked to see Barger get the start. Otherwise, a perfect lineup.

Yeah, I'm fine with that but Ernie's been mashing all spring and was a beast yesterday.

Straw should rarely have a bat in his hands (I'm not buying his 2025 performance as something he can keep doing), but it's the first series of the season, so probably just trying to get everyone in there. If they view Barger as a platoon player moving forward then that's a separate issue.

I still don’t understand the 2 spot. Seems like most teams bat their best players at the top of the lineup to get them the most at bats, but we’re insistent on batting Lukes/Schneider there.

I believe you're right, they want everyone to get their feet wet and a lefty lets them do that, also an inferior team with an inferior pitching staff. Fairly simple, I guess.

I think it's definitely just Vlad wanting to hit 3rd. I'm sure the front office would prefer it to be 1) Springer 2) Vlad
