Henry Davis - what a disaster haha. 

Wouldn't write off Jackson Jobe just yet. Just came back from injury and still only 24. 

Cowser is still young enough to bounce back, but he's looking like he could go the way of Jeremy Hermida haha. 

I still like Lawlar - just needs to stay healthy. 

Kumar Rocker is having a meh season. 

Matt McLain still has the raw tools for a breakout. Just needs to put it altogether. 

McGreevy has been solid, but nothing special.

Gavin Williams looks like he's the best out of that bunch. Has ace-level upside at least. 

Colson Montgomery looks legit and could get better.

Joe Mack looks really good as well. Already 2.2 WAR in 76 games.

Merrill looked ELITE but now he seems so boring. A few bright spots scattered around but what a horrible top end of a draft.

Yeah Jackson Merrill in 2024 during his rookie season was looking like a star. The past two seasons, he's been boring like you said. Even despite the offensive struggles, still going to post a +3 WAR season. Still only 23, but hasn't looked anywhere close to the 5-6 WAR type of player we saw in 2024.

Major League Baseball announced that the league owners have unanimously voted to approve the Padres’ new ownership group led by José E. Feliciano and Kwanza Jones. Feliciano will be club’s control person. There is still some rubber-stamping to do, as the league announced that the approval “remains contingent upon the closing of the transaction involving the controlling interest in the club with the current owners of the Padres, which is expected in the weeks ahead.” The Padres also relayed the news, saying that Erik Greupner remains CEO while A.J. Preller stays on as president of baseball operations.

The Diamondbacks placed second baseman Ketel Marte on the restricted list shortly before first pitch tonight in Boston. Infielder Jose Fernandez was recalled from Triple-A Reno. The team hasn’t publicly commented.

Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports that Marte traveled with the team to Boston but did not show up to Fenway Park. According to Steve Gilbert of MLB.com, the team had waited right up to game time in the hope that Marte would arrive.

This Ryan Zeferjahn guy looks disgusting.  Just dirty stuff.  But he's been awful for the Cubbies.  Giving up HRs at an alarming rate (SSS) - Benintendi just took him yard. 

Cubs seemingly gave up a lot for him and they need him to find it before the playoffs.
