Not sure if these are God's truth.  Don't remember the Will Smith homerun being quite that much of a wall scraper.  According to Stats Cast Ernie's fly out and Will Smith's homerun were both 366.  Such a Random sport.  Ernie pulls that ball a bit...

And ya have snell with the nerve to talk about our “luck” against him. Dodgers had a horseshoe up their ass the whole damn series

That's the best season of baseball I've ever watched in my life.  I love this team.  They gave us so much. What an improbable season from start to finish.

I know this hurts really bad, but please stop trying to blame people for this.  Expecting perfection from humans is stupid.  Baseball is a funny game sometimes.

What incredible memories.  I won't soon forget 2025.

lol... no Jay fan will ever forget '25.

Sad truth is there is only a happy ending for one team.  This hurts but it is the best absolute outcome other than winning.

If game 7 wasn't competitive.  Like a 3-1 snoozer that would be worse.  You'd miss the excitement of being up and so close.

If the series was a 5 gamer with the Dodgers winning in LA that would be worse.  Always regret the 2 games in Toronto that never happened.

Seattle wins the ALCS?  Worse.  NY wins the division series.  Way worse.   Yankees win the division and lose a wild card series?  Worse!

Get swept by the Yankees on Canada Day weekend?  That would suck.   Happened against Boston in 2023.

Win 74 and watch Vlad miss out on 200 hits last weekend?  That sucks.  It all sucks except winning the World Series.

Coming close is the best possible outcome other than winning.  Does anyone remember the 2007 Rockies or 2023 Diamondbacks?  Would you rather be them?

No losing normally would be fine.  Even the Hoffman home run is expected.  We can live with that because everyone knows Hoffman will choke 1/5, even though he was good all playoffs.  The bottom of the 9th and 11th are what kind of ruins the fun.

Being out by 10 feet or a routine double play in the 9th is fine.

You just don't want to see it be 1" deciding the season on a challenge that may have gone our way if the initial call was safe, they probably can't overturn it to out.

Also add ABS and the series plays out completely differently but maybe we still lose.

Funny how different players view this differently. A double play liner to 3rd?? When does Varsho ever hit oppo line drives? That shouldn’t have been a worry at all, but maybe it was in their minds due to the Gimenez liner to Muncy earlier.

Small situations that cause ripple effects throughout the game…

However, Varsho needed to do better to hit something in the air there.

Just so goddamn frustrating to lose like this. Im not even sad, im just annoyed.

Good take, they didn't execute with the bat or in baserunning, same can be said for the pen, the 3 late dingers killed us as well.

I get that.  Not sure though it feel better to lose 3-1.  Or if you did there would be something else that would be magnified that you'd worry about.  I don't know... totally get the play at home is going to drive some people nuts forever.

I guess I just see everything as being on the margins.  Like if Varsho hits that ball a foot to Rojos left.  Or Clemente pulls the ball a bit.

If Varsho struck out there and everything else was the same would everyone be happier today?  Outcome would be the same.  Wouldn't have to watch endless videos of IKF sliding and maybe he'd be back next year.

It's the play at home.  Our pitchers giving up home runs will be mostly forgotten.  We made great diving catches and they played good defence too.

The IKF was the easiest play to execute and base running is the one thing you really have full control over.  So the IKF thing is going to be talked about until they can win a WS.

Oh man.  Maybe I am just coping by accepting what Whitt Merrifield had to say ....   He didn't have a good lead not only to avoid the line drive double play but also to avoid being picked off with the third basemen sneaking in behind him or Catcher getting him.

On the other hand maybe Merrifield is just protecting his friend.  There are a couple of angles which look awful but might be deceptive.  Like his lead looks like it is 2 feet, but they said it was more like 7 or 8, so he was about the same distance away from bag as the third basemen...

Maybe I am just choosing to believe Merrifield to save my own sanity.

Depressing that there’s no next game. I’ve had some tough losses with my sports teams but this takes top spot. I’ve been groggy all day today. Got to do something productive and have a good week. If anyone wants to vent, send me a message.

Blue Jays had plenty of chances to win and just could not get the job done, it just really sucks

Always respect the opinions of players (former & current), just disagree with the logic here. Why? Give me numbers! Daulton Varsho: Nearly 2,500 career plate apps 1,634 batted balls 342 line drives 58 to the opposite field 4 hit to 3rd base 3 of 4 were jam shots (only 1 true lineout!) In other words, if the logic is protect against getting doubled up, then they were protecting against something that had-at best-a 0.1% chance of happening. Conversely, Varsho has hit 412 groundballs to 1B/2B/SS (type of play where good primary & secondary leads could have won them a World Series). 1 vs 412!!! If it were a guy like Kirk, Guerrero, Clement, Bichette, etc... up at the plate (ie a RHB who hits a lot of line drives), totally get the logic. But you lose me when Varsho up at the plate.

Yeah this is one of those games that happens in the season, and it sucks but you just go right back out the next day and get a bounceback win.

To have 2 games back-to-back like that to lose the WS is devastating. Not to mention only needing 1 more win.

he missed the key element, runners don't play the hitter they play what the fielders are giving them

It was a classic no doubt about it.

A LOT of people saying it's the best World Series they've ever seen. That helps a little.

At least we put on a helluva show. Finally dared to venture onto social media and it's being called a classic.

Dodgers Reddit giving jays props and also credit from the players for putting vesias 51 on reliever caps.  Nobody said anything, the dodgers just noticed it later in the game once our relievers started coming out.

Basically all NL teams fans are heartbroken by the jays losing as it’s clear a lot of teams became invested in seeing the dodgers lose.  Only teams rooting against us were really Yankees, mariners, and rays for some reason (some seemed upset that we don’t like the trop) as I was really following what other teams were saying.  Red Sox were behind us.

things will look a bit better once we make a few off season moves.  If the next season started in 2 weeks we would brush it off no problem.

Muncy was giving him more than he was taking, considerably so.

I would say based on his secondary lead he was fine - not great.

He's not a good ball player.  Above average base runner with below average speed.  Poor instincts (no metric for this unfortunately).

regarding Black's post - IKF doesn't have Varsho's spray chart

I'm not sure if it's IKFs fault or the 3rd base coaches fault but it doesn't take a lot of Varsho viewings to realize he's a pull hitter and a line out to third is very unlikely. The spray chart only confirms that even moreso.

IKF needed to take a way bigger secondary lead.

Have watched baseball for nearly 30 years and never once had to think about correct leads off any base.  Never hear it talked about either.  Now everyone is an expert on it, myself included.

it's a thing but yea.  I'm out - enough already.

Just would’ve been nice to be on the prevailing side of it.

Cubs/Indians 2016 was a classic but im certain Cleveland fans don’t feel good about it.

I really wanted that Cleveland team to win.  Brutal that Chapman gets away with that Hoffman style blowup to Davis but still come out on top.

Even though they took us down, was easy to move past it.

But they were a racist team and exist solely for us to farm players from so we kind of need them to stay irrelevant.  Still waiting on Ramirez.

Just checking in on it again, they have a lot brutal posts about the jays today on Dodgers.  There was a couple nice posts though.

"This is karma (Ernie smiling as he slides home)",

"thats what you get for celebrating a double play" (Vlad),

Kike saying "im so glad the worst team won".(Caleb Joseph comment)

Yea, all 3 of them do kinda suck.

Cleveland also had a brutal one in 1997 losing a game 7 lead in the 9th and losing in the 11th due to a Tony Fernandez error.  Neither was quite as brutal as last night.

Red Sox in 1986 was pretty brutal.  These things are remembered and add character to the franchise far more than 2023 Arizona Diamondbacks type season....

Unless you want to argue some of our guys will be messed up by this and we won't win until we phase a lot of these guys out.
