Yep, that IKF brain fart likely cost the team a ring. To be fair though, the 3rd base coach may have told him to stay close the bag to avoid a throw down to third to pick him off (or he may have been antsy having seen Barger get picked off in Game 6). Who knows. Still, based on how far away the fielder was, he could've been at least another couple feet up.

The shoddy baserunning was one of the key reasons why the Jays lost this series. There was the Bo brain fart where he wasn't paying attention, Barger being doubled off to end a game and now IKF with the awful jump at third base on a play where he probably should have scored easily.

Honestly, it's cathartic. You're not alone, you're feeling the pain right along with your guys. It will help you to heal faster than burying your head in the sand but I understand if you find it too painful. People process trauma and disappointment and heartbreak in different ways. I'm just glad the players showed how much this means to them behind closed doors. Makes me like them even more and makes me want to support them even harder next year.

You have a good point

Wish I wasn't born right after the 92/93 world series. Missing the glory years make this one hurt even more. Hopefully I'll see them win in my lifetime.

Baseball is such a cruel game. The more deserving team didn't win, the evil empire spent their way to another championship and pundits get to pretend they were right in forecasting a Dodgers win from the start. Lady luck and baseball are so fickle.

I bet you are one of them that said we will win the championship only to lose, just shut your mouth next time idiot

$500+ million luxury tax payroll wasn't enough, the Dodgers had to bogart all the luck too.

Just phucking sickening watching those lucky pieces of shite celebrate another WS title after being handily outplayed and outscored over the 7 games.

The wrong team definitely won tonight.

There is nothing we can do about it so we have to accept it and painfully move on

Just got back to the hotel after the game. What a crushing heartbreaker. The kid next to me was balling his eyes out after the game. The one play I keep thinking about was Clement's big hit to the gap that was caught as the two outfielders collided. I just remember watching Kike Hernandez looking so hopeless as the ball was going over his head and I thought for sure the World Series had just been won but it wasn't meant to be. Makes me sick!

It must suck to see the Blue Jays lose in person but at least you got a great game out of it! I still cannot believe Pages made that damn catch, props to him!

Man I am incensed at IKF even more the more I think about that play. Get that f*cking scrub ass bum out of the city this instant. All he had to do was be 5 feet closer to the plate on a play where he should be 5 feet closer to the plate and boom, WS is won.

I keep going over this play in my mind and I just can't come up with any reason why he was so damn close to the base. He should have been anticipating a wild pitch in that situation and getting a secondary lead so he would have a chance to score.

What an amazing game to go to.

No regrets.  I've never seen so much drama and tension at a ball game.  Memories to last a lifetime.

Had it all.  Bench clearing, HRs, lead changes, extra innings, video reviews!

Hope the management will find a way to keep improving the team so they can challenge next yr too. They were so close.

Please everyone remember none of this is our fault.  The blame is on someone, probably Jeff Hoffman

Hoffman pitched pretty well this Postseason. Closed out Game 7 against the Mariners. Sucks he gave up the HR to Rojas, but Jays still had a chance to win in Extras. Wasn't like Hoffman had a meltdown like he did at times during the regular season.

In hindsight, you could see the panic in the eyes of the 2nd basemen as he stumbled with the ball because he knew the world series would be over. What a blunder by IKF :(

He was used as a pinch runner several times this series and he f***ed up like every time. Too bad Straw was subbed in earlier than necessary because he should’ve been in that spot.

Agreed was an epic game, but glad I saved the $2300 😅

The Dodgers do not deserve a lot of credit in this series aside from Yamamoto.

If that helps you sleep better at night

If only Kike was 50lbs heavier and Pages wasn’t able to just bowl him over.

This loss must feel equally bad as when the Rangers were a single strike from winning and wound up losing the game and series a while back. They finally got their lucky win and I really hope the Jays can recover some of this year's magic and win it next year.
