Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 26, 2025 Posted October 26, 2025 The only dumber decision than using Varland is using Hoffman in a game in which we have a very, very small possibility of winning.
VladdyAlomar Verified Member Posted October 26, 2025 Posted October 26, 2025 Dodgers the better team and it's not even close
Doc Verified Member Posted October 26, 2025 Posted October 26, 2025 Dodgers have 4 aces and we only have a half of one. Gausman isn't missing many bats anymore. Just got to try and win in LA.

Tomorrows an off day, not that big of a deal. It's only a 2 run lead, anything is possible.
Alejandro Murphy Verified Member Posted October 26, 2025 Posted October 26, 2025 Varland is like living in a house built on Sand.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 26, 2025 Posted October 26, 2025 What an absolutely f***ing ridiculous use of Jeff Hoffman. Completely indefensible. Let him face his 3 batters and put in Little or something. max silver 1

You think very highly of Varland. Or very little of every other reliever. I agree that Hoffman coming in here is weird. I'm fine with Varland in his situation.

Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted October 26, 2025 Posted October 26, 2025 Wtf was that from Gimenez man...
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted October 26, 2025 Posted October 26, 2025 Why is Hoffman facing the Dodgers again? Last time was a disaster

Slade Old-Timey Member Posted October 26, 2025 Posted October 26, 2025 Well wheels off here. We will get another in LA.
ComeTogether Verified Member Posted October 26, 2025 Posted October 26, 2025 Dodgers never scored more than 5 since WC game. Jays needs to score 5 or more to win
Masterbather Verified Member Posted October 26, 2025 Posted October 26, 2025 They earned this one. Gotta win game 3 I think.

The Blue Jays believe that Varland is their best non-closer reliever, based on the way they have used him this season. I get why you would argue why that's not the case, but let's just say it is. That was an extremely inappropriate situation in which to use him.
