Detroit would have been an easy opponent even with Skubal.

Mariners have very solid starting pitchers with reliable high leverage bullpen

and their hitters are deadly from top to bottom

But never say surrender

lets Go Jays !

How many pitches was Yesavage at? Our bullpen seems below average in stranding Inherited runners but just might be recency bias talking.

And that's why you play with your starter as much as you can. But this dumbass manager always think the Jays got the best bullpen in the game. f***ing s***

You can't just ride your starters to death. Somebody in the bullpen has to come through or you have no chance anyway.

There's a difference between riding them to death and pulling them in childhood

To death?  Gausman and Yesavage were both in the 70s of their pitch count.  If thats what you think is "riding your starters to death" then thats just soft.

How many groundouts is that for Vladdy now these 1st 2 games?

He's absolutely Groundero again.

It's a bit disappointing, Jays players do their best,  but we see the difference between a team who was all in at trade deadline and fixed all their holes in their roster, and a team who was looking for discounted deals.

The world if the Jays didn't trade for Louis Varland is a world I want to live in. I've never seen someone so hittable being treated like he's the best reliever on the team.

Varland’s fastball reminds me of Joe Kelly, and that is not a good thing.

He doesn't even ride his starters to death yet because he's not giving them a chance to do so.

We will have needed a healthy Bichette and Bassitt in this series and another good hitter that we didn't get at trade deadline to beat Seattle. Also a top closer will have been welcomed.
