He's been pretty silent in this series with the exception of the home run the other day with a huge lead. I think Springer is actually hurting or something. There's no other reason for him to be DH'ing while Santander plays the field. Hopefully he can put a good game together in game 4.

A horrible decision to let Judge beat you only to intentionally walk him later. Who knows you walk Judge maybe Bellinger or Rice get the job done but you make those guys beat you. You can't have Judge tie the game in that situation. But yea Barger catches that ball you don't even get to that point. s***** game. Come back and try to fight tomorrow. I don’t think you intentionally walk the tying run. But I agree, dont give into him there. Interesting insight from Caleb Joseph that Judge was hunting something to pull. Could’ve gone away like Gausman did the other day. But Judge is really fn good.

That was the most depressing loss for me since 2015 against KC. Dude its one loss, you’re acting like they lost the series. If this was a game 5 then yeah 100% worst loss of the last few decades. But its not. Its game 3, and we are still up 2-1. Gen.Disarray, BatFlip, Spanky__99 and 1 other 3 1

What doesn't kill you will make you stronger. It's gonna take everyone to win the series. This is usually the narrative in a knockout game...something that hasn't happened all season suddenly does and it's all over. Thankfully the Jays got this out of the way in game 3 while being up 2-0 in the series; I wouldn't be surprised if tomorrow the script is flipped and the bullpen has a great game to seal the deal. He might be rattled by the pressure here. Maybe pinch hit later. Clement at 3rd, Schneider at 2nd and Lukes and George in the outfield. Santander dh. He definitely looked rattled after the error to me. But he’ll play tomorrow. Its probably the right decision.
McGriff19 Verified Member Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 We energized the Yankees tonight. Maybe we win tomorrow but I think its coming down to game 5. Hope im overreacting but it just feels like the Yankees are now going to go on a run.

I just think it's dumb all around to be messing with the defensive chemistry of an elite defensive team. If you have to sacrifice a little on offense (at least on paper) to prevent as many runs as possible, then sobeit.

He really hasn't looked good except for maybe 1 start. I know to give him some slack because of his injury but not sure he is the real deal. His CY was the covid year and not sure he ever pitched more than 100 innings. we need to pay for shut down starters. Unfortunately, Bassit Berrios and max are not it going into next season.
FierceBlueJay Verified Member Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 Tough loss. Bieber's lack of velocity up in the zone wasn't going to get the yankees key hitters. Varland doesn't have much deception or movement on that fastball. Defense gave them extra outs. I may go to game 4.

Our bullpen against the yanks in this school yard of a stadium doesnt make me feel confident. I think it comes down to Gaus having to pitch the game of his life.

jmomcc Verified Member Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 Is there an argument for gausman on short rest tomorrow? And then start yesavage on normal rest if needed game 5?
Gen.Disarray Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 This game sucked, I'm gutted. But we could have lost the first 2 and still won the series eventually. Instead we won the first 2 and a stinker or 2 doesn't kill us. Obviously I wanted the sweep here but now we gotta win 1 game and they gotta win 2. I like our chances. Who knows, maybe we'll sweep the next series when we're done stuffing these turkeys

I just don't think you can let Judge be the one to beat you. You take your chances with Bellinger with the bases loaded for sure. None of its ideal. But you can't have the best player on the planet tie the game. If Bellinger and Rice go deep you tip your cap. Its way tougher pill to swallow when you go after Judge with your best stuff and he still takes you deep. Spanky__99, M.E. and HomeRunHomer 3

Most people had us losing game 2 because of Fried. Realistically Jays should’ve won this game. You get 6 runs off their 2nd best and knock him out in the 3rd, Yanks were dead in the water. But absolutely nothing went right from a run prevention standpoint for us today. Just could not stop the Yanks from scoring. Really want to end this series tomorrow, or else you get an all hands on deck situation for both teams. Game 5 will get crazy. max silver and jaysblue 2
