So they determined in New York that Lukes couldn't catch that ball if nobody was sitting there reaching over. But they announced it as fan interference so clearly he was obstructed, How do you announce it otherwise.

I still can’t believe that call. If the fan doesn’t reach over, that bounces off the fence. Seems pretty damn clear it was not going to be over the wall.

Luke’s also could have caught it. Utter joke

I want to know why they thought it would be a home run anyway. I'm guessing they used the advanced metrics to determine the estimated distance. According to Baseball Savant, that hit was a home run in exactly one park (the one we're playing in).  It sure looked like he reached way out over the field though.

I guess were not going to get a proper explanation until after the game. The other interesting thing is John Schneider came out to argue. Isn't that suppose to be automatic ejection normally? When you argue the results from New York and not the umpire crew. Interesting to see he wasn't or was he and I missed it responding on here?

I assume he was getting clarification on the nonsense ruling, not arguing the result.

Laz Diaz might as well have just said "Upon further review, **** the Jays, go Yankees, signed MLB video review room in New York."

Exactly what I was thinking.

Pretty sure youre able to ask for clarification.  When the ump said "i didnt make the decision" it stopped the convo.

This game is uncomfortably close now.

They had runners on first and second no one out. Clement and Gimenez went up hacking at balls and screwed the inning

Ok thank you. That makes sense.
