Stuff doesn't treat splitters properly. This guy has best pitcher in baseball potential.

according to the model it doesn't take into account command/location, deception and pitch sequencing.  Given savages high arm slot that would fall into the deception category so the model probably under rates at least his splitter and possibly all his pitches.

Stuff isn't meant to quantify those things. It's purely a measure of shape and movement. 

Speaking of which, anyone has his stuff and location #'s from yesterdays start? And also where to find that info so I don't have to ask again ... lol

So his location was downright awful and it wasn't just the umpire squeezing him.  Got it.

I thought his command definitely looked off, but the stuff still had sizzle.  Next start will be very interesting.

Yeah it was definitely some of both. He did paint a lot of pitches inside the edges of the zone without being rewarded for it though, and combined with a bogus trap call and shaky infield defense his line made it look like he pitched far worse than he actually did.
