But that doesn't mean he's beyond criticism because he's a good player for my baseball team. He doesn't read this board, so don't worry his feelings won't get hurt. I guess we'll see once he has a long-term contract what his speed looks like maybe you're right maybe I'm right. I know how the Blue Jays have managed injuries but this is different, it's only pain and it's not a small sacrifice when it's the most important game of your season in September. If this was another point in the season they wouldn't have even brought him back yesterday, we're in September, it's a huge series things are different now. Clement is playing through a literal broken bone, Kirk had that nasty bruise on his throwing hand and kept playing because it's just pain. Bo couldn't even DH in the biggest game of the season? Come on man. I think there's reason to be skeptical. You aren't on the Blue Jays high performance/training department and as such you are making a bunch of assumptions, and further to that you are making baseless accusations against Bo. We've seen over the years that Bo is essentially impossible to convince to come out of the lineup for maintenance days so it's a pretty grand leap to assume that he's insisting that he wasn't in the lineup yesterday. I can only guess his offseason training routine in the winter prioritized keeping him healthy all season long and avoiding reinjury to his wonky calf. This part was a success, but it's a shame that he's so slow in the field this season. He does appear to be carrying a few extra pounds this season and slimming down a little could help to improve his mobility a tad. It's stupid as hell that you are suggesting that Bo is running slower in an attempt to make more money in free agency. His range is diminished at short stop to the point where he is going to need to change positions sooner rather than later, and it's not exactly a selling feature for a player to have lost a bunch of speed on the bases in the season prior to free agency. Let's surmise that Bo has been in fact running at something like 80% effort to avoid reinjury as you suggest. He's avoided the rash of lower body injuries this season and been able to stay on the field, and this has been of tremendous benefit to the team as one of their most important bats.

All 3 games were winnable to the very end. Caught some bad breaks and bounces. Could’ve hit better. On to the Astros! Yeah it feels like on the whole we outplayed them over the course of the 3 games but we hit like dog crap with RISP in the two close games to drop the series. Frustrating but we have a 2 game lead with the tiebreakers and 12 of our final 19 games are at home (where we are 45-24 on the year). Off day today but I like the pitching matchups for us this series. Must win 2 out of 3. Berrios vs. Garcia Bieber vs. Alexander Gausman vs. Javier

The bullpen was largely tremendous, and Fisher came back looking like he didn't miss a beat and can be a key arm for the stretch run. Vlad also appears to have locked in at the plate again as well which is huge for the lineup. Terminator, Stangstag and Spanky__99 3

Omar Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2025 Posted September 8, 2025 When I was reading the Yankees game day threads during this past series it was obvious that most of their posters seem to think that they were lucky to win 2/3. Popular opinion on that board was that the Jays are a more well rounded team. They fear us. No need to go into panic mode. The Yankees are a one trick pony; when their power bats struggle the whole team collapses. Their next series with the Tigers should be interesting. Spanky__99, max silver, Terminator and 2 others 5

I will also predict that the Judge/Stanton issue will become a bigger problem real soon. One is bound to get injured and hit the DL BatFlip and Omar 2

Contrary to a certain mr. negativity who has constantly been wrong on this team, we were far from outclassed by the Yankees. We really should have taken 2 of 3 and the Jays aren't 'lucky' to be first in the AL East. It'll be a dogfight for the pennant and the playoffs will be tough as hell, but that's the sport and that's the fun of it. Omar, Brownie19, Wake n bake and 3 others 6

Hey "Mr. Negativity" here to chime in on the fact that the Yankees are objectively a better team, and we have been lucky. Their run differential is miles ahead of us. We are 23-17 in one run games and they are 20-22. (Red Sox are 20-24) Let me take you back to 2021, when everyone here talked about how we were clearly a better team because of our superior run differential and the Yankees and Red Sox were just lucky (I agreed by the way). They also had great records in one run games that year compared to our .500 record, it's the primary reason they finished ahead of us, but now that roles are reversed magically those things don't matter anymore? Now I understand run differentials and one run games is not the end all and be all. I would even concede the Blue Jays might well be the second best team in the American League. Don't get me wrong, the Yankees are flawed: middle relief is wonky, the Stanton/Judge issue is definitely a problem, every team in the American League is flawed, but New York is still the best. Doesn't mean we can't win the East or come out of the American League.

That's totally on point for your continuous series Blue Jays suck/Yankees are awesome posts. It's just par for the course that during a season that feels miraculous in nature that you are completely incapable of enjoying it at any point and go out of your way to ensure that others don't get to enjoy it either.

I just said I considered the Blue Jays the second best team in the American League, which somehow means they suck. Okay. I've been enjoying this season tremendously. We're in first place stupid. But thanks for making my point that some people just want this board to be about fanboying, it's illegal to try to have baseball discussion that doesn't end with the Blue Jays are the best and everyone else sucks. Like it's a crime to suggest the Yankees might still be the better team, grow up.

Like it's a crime to suggest the Yankees might still be the better team, grow up. The Blue Jays have been playing at a 100 win pace record for the last 4 months and you just came here to proudly proclaim that it's primarily due to dumb luck. Over this time the club has produced a very solid +104 run differential in a 107 game sample, but you are trying to suggest that this is due to nothing other than dumb luck and as such giving no credit to the team where it's deserved. At the same time you are constantly singing the praises of a division rival who the Blue Jays enjoyed an 8-5 record in the head to head matchup this season. It shouldn't be so difficult for you to wrap your brain around the fact that other posters aren't going to enjoy a total buzzkill/killjoy type who has a post rate of approximately 99% saying how much the 2025 Blue Jays team sucks and how much better their primary divisional competition is. I have a really hard time believing you when you claim that you've enjoyed this season. Every day features a barrage of posts about how bad the Blue Jays are in some fashion or another, and that's exactly the same kind of posts you made last season when the Blue Jays were terrible. It's all doom and gloom all the time and nothing else is ever allowed. Jesusindashed 1
