It isn't hate he just doesn't seem to come up big. You have a $million on the game and need a clutch hit you have to choose Vlad or Bo who are you going to pick?

I don't know if i believe in clutch hitting.

You just gotta hope the pen can turn it around. Still a 4 game lead in the division and there are 3 games left with each of the Yankees and Sox. Jays are still in a pretty good spot and you Bieber being healthy is a huge addition.

Exactly and 4 games on the bye as Houston are losing  to the Rockies 6-1 in the 9th, beating Hunter Brown, s*** happens.

Go check out his career numbers in high leverage and get back to us, man.

I get matchups and I get pitch counts but I tell you, I'd rather our starters go a full 6IP minimum than rely on more outs from pen.

If only Schneider could pick anyone he wants at any point in a game... he wasn't coming off the bench.  At the end of the day, it's just another AB whether it's the 9th or the 1st.

Atkins was too busy coming in his hand over getting all that sweet sweet reliever control. So people online can call him smart.

Atkins deadline was a solid B, if he added the 3rd BP arm it gets to an A, you're being too hard on the guy, friendo. Varland is better than what this version is, they need to just let him do what he was doing before he came here, the tinkering is f*cking with him.

It was really easy to add another bullpen arm. They were plentiful and pretty cheap.

I said Atkins should be fired for his pitiful deadline attempt at shoring up the bullpen. I still feel that way.

If the playoffs were to start today we’d have no shot. Bullpen needs to pull it s*** together quickly

I did like the Seranthony Dominguez and Louis Varland additions, but yeah are they key pieces you can lean on in leverage spots? Not sure. Dominguez tonight and his last couple of outings has looked real good, but he can be erratic at times as well.

The Jays bullpen is very deep, just doesn't have 2 or 3 elite shutdown guys that stand out. They have guys who are capable, its just they could wild at times. Hoffman, when he's on, is fine lol.

Important that they ride their starters for as long as they can in the Postseason. Easier if Bieber pitches 7 innings and then they turn to the bullpen, rather than going to the pen in the 5th or 6th innings to close things out.

Hopefully these issues sort themselves out in September and these guys are locked in during October baseball.

They also had planned on Garcia returning, maybe it was a mistake to count on it but it was realistic in their plans I'm sure.

The problem is we don't have great pitching. We have Bieber and a lot of good pitching.

A lot of our starters tend to hit the wall and our relievers tend to leak runs.

Deck chairs....Titanic.

His wRC+ is basically the same across the board, he's fairly level headed at the plate it's just always recent bias that people harp on.  He also hasn't played in a week, he might take a couple games to get his timing right.

Even with his struggles, I think Hoffman is the guy for the job in the 9th inning. When he's on, he can flat out dominate.

As for tonight, I wouldn't have pitched to Wallner in that situation. If you end up leaving the top of the 9th inning at 4-4, Jays could have won.

Sandlin as well.

Yea that would have been tricky in terms of bullpen composition.

The hot takes tonight are f***in' brutal man, invalids.

I was at a local bar watching the game tonight and heard guys at a table saying Hoffman was awful and the Jays need to get rid of him lol.
