Not surprised at all if it’s due to the splits he always does at 1B. Just silly to keep doing it. Hurts just watching him do it, can’t imagine how it actually feels. Eventually it would get him. Hopefully nothing serious.

No it was at the top of the inning. 

The color guy unwrapped a new baseball and that made a lot of noise on the mic and play by play called him out. And it was because he wanted to demonstrate Gausman's grip, then play by play guy was like well why not do that when Gausman is pitching? Skenes is pitching now.

So color guy continues to talk about Gausman's pitching because he got called out. It goes back and forth a bit.

Then when the inning ends, play by play mockingly says that color guy is going to probably show you a Skenes pitch in the next half inning (mocking him because Skenes will no longer be pitching in the next half inning)

Gausman was okay. I would have preferred that the worst lineup in baseball didn't give him as much trouble as they did but it's not like it was a disaster either.

Gausman having to gut out 5 innings against a slap dick lineup. Disappointing. At least it’s tied. Keep them at 2 and hopefully get to their pen.

We're all hoping like hell that Bieber comes back as a number one. We're also hoping as hell that Gausman can establish himself as a true number two. Would have been nice to have him show a little bit more against this lineup.

Pirates catcher Henry Davis isn't great at framing so could be why that looked more like a ball - his glove ended up on the dirt
