Rangers (deGrom) vs Blue Jays (Bassitt): 8/15/25, 7:07pm

I was just looking something up for the Brewers, and noticed that the Rangers have allowed the fewest runs in all of baseball. Surely this is the first time in franchise history they've done that.

Would have been awesome to see deGrom vs. Scherzer tonight haha!

Would have been blessed with two epic pitching matching in the span of a week, damn!

Degrom had a chance to be one of the best pitchers of all time but poor guy just couldnt stay healthy enough.  Still one of the best of his generation.

That 2021 season. I don't know how much farther he could have taken it but holy s*** was that just stupid what he was doing.

1999 Pedro Martinez was probably the greatest I've ever seen especially given the era of offense.

But 2021 deGrom was doing some truly special things.

I suspect peak deGrom likely featured the best combination of stuff and command in MLB history out of the rotation. It was like facing a top shelf closer except out of the rotation. I wasn't surprised that he wasn't able to remain healthy given the stresses that throwing that hard would have created on his body.

I think peak Pedro has him beat in this respect, but deGrom is easily top 5.
