That would be the worst diet for him to go on. You want him to be skinny fat?

Nothing wrong with low carb for weight loss, it's actually protein and muscle sparing if done correctly.

Only if you mix it in with a lot of resistance training otherwise I wouldn't recommend it. Carbs are important source of energy. They fuel those workouts. Just stay away from added sugars and over consumption and you will be fine.

That might be the dumbest defensive play I have seen this year. First of all he probably should have caught that ball. Second how do you not throw home when the runner is dead to rights. I will take it. Whatever made it 5-0 sign me up.

probably going on contact and they weren't playing in?  SN is terrible with highlights so just guessing as I'm watching while scrolling in here

I watched the replay the runner (Barger) wasn't even half way home when he fielded the ball. If he had thrown home Barger probably tries to retreat to third he would have been that out at home.

A player at his age should be getting stronger and faster instead it's the opposite for him.  Maybe he's dealing with something off the field (?)

OK, I don't even know what the Atkins diet is.  It was a comment about him being fat.  I thought I was being clever by saying Atkins.  You guys take things way too serious..lol

I think on that play his teammates have to yell instructions to him because he's watching the ball and the broken bat. But they probably don't give a f*** at this point.

As someone who is in school for becoming a Dietitian, I can say confidently that nearly any type of calorie restriction eating pattern, when accompanied by resistance training, will result in weight/fat loss and at least muscle maintenance and not muscle loss (assuming no genetic or broken metabolic factors, and it's done correctly)

I'm actually in the middle of a module on sports dietetics this very minute while the game is on lol

Considering the ball was in the air. His first reaction should have been to freeze. I think he was also surprised the defender didn't catch the ball. Maybe more focused on the bat but made no effort to charge it and play it an awkward bounce and tried to turn 2 in nothing burger situation. Very weird play.

I took it as a joke FYI

his off season should be spent getting ready for the season then it's maintenance mode in season

And that's exactly right. The Human body is pretty simple. Burn more calories than you consume and you will lose weight. It doesn't matter what you eat. It's how much of it that you eat. You could lose weight eating McDonalds cheese burgers everyday. It's not the best option but just to give a silly example.

Vlady works his ass off in the DR during the off season - it's why he comes into camp very fit but then falls off a little once the season starts; which is expected

Those team dinners and pre game spreads. They basically have everything you could ever want.

It's great that our highest paid hitter has probably the worst approach at the plate on the team.

Half a billion dollar talent with a 10 cent head.

people talked about how he would explode in the second half of the season

He still might, but it's frustrating as hell watching a guy with the talent to be a 180 wRC+ hitter languish with a paltry 132.

It was frustrating before the long-term contract.

Going forward it's just flat out infuriating.

Vlad would be around 160 wRC+ with average luck. Peripherals are top 10, and that's where a top 10 hitter is atm. His walks are up as is his defense, I'm not worried tbh

I'm talking about his approach not his luck. His approach is s***. Whatever "bad luck" he's getting he could be even better if he wasn't an idiot.

.300 babip

he needs to take luck out of the equation and hit the ball over the fence, he has no power

What part of his approach at the plate makes him an idiot?
