He was warming today because he was literally the last pen arm available aside from Hoffman.

Definitely got to love what Lauer has done so far. He's been a reliable arm and possibly might be room for a bit more. Kind of reminds me of Ted Lilly. 

Having Lauer as your No. 5 starter moving forward if he keeps this up would be swell. He's shown he's capable of putting together a 2 WAR season and maybe there's the possibility you can squeeze a 2023/2024 Kikuchi type of season out of him down the road.

It appears Lauer is arbitration eligible next year too?  That's a pretty nice option for us to have.

Yeah, he has one more year left of control and then he becomes a FA. Nice option to have as a #5 starter for sure!
