Looking at Gameday it was a ball but not a super obvious one, so it wasn’t a terrible call. Just the wrong one. That’s what happens though when you can’t hit home runs and have to hope for singles and walks. Sometimes you have to depend on umps and that’s not ideal.

Yeah I've seen worse but we could be leading the league in homers and the wrong call on a full count with the bases loaded with two outs will still have a large impact

That's probably a homer in most ballparks but it's only registering as 318 feet on statcast due to the green monster.
