Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted January 8, 2025 Posted January 8, 2025 Nice park for Verlander to try and pad his stats Terminator, Spanky99, L54 and 1 other 4
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted January 8, 2025 Posted January 8, 2025 Seems like a reasonable place for him to land. Verlander "might" have one more good season in him and SF "might" be a contender this year if things all break right for them.Â
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted January 8, 2025 Posted January 8, 2025 Another of the teams that was rumored to be on Flaherty (Orioles being the other) seemingly pivoting to a cheaper aging vet (assuming any truth to those rumors of course).  Â
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted January 8, 2025 Posted January 8, 2025 Kinda wish Burnes went to San Fran so it would have taken them out of free agency for everyone else. Arizona wasn't signing anyone anyways man lol.Â
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted January 8, 2025 Posted January 8, 2025 1 year, $15M deal for Verlander. Does the old horse have one more 150+ inning, 2-3 WAR season left in him? Seems like a lot of money to find out, but it's going to be interesting to see how this plays out. I think it would have been nice to see him return to Detroit for one last season. Help that young team one more time - Billy Chapel style. Spanky99 and jaysblue 2

His Stuff+ numbers are still very good, this was a good sign, with all older players it holds risk, but he's worth it. MadMax now has his number, go get him Ross... 😜

He's going to do the crafty old slop-throwing vet thing of pitching to contact and letting Oracle Park hold most of the nukes that are hit.Â

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted January 12, 2025 Posted January 12, 2025 Honestly a little disappointed by this. If he was going to pitch another Season I would prefer he finished his career in Detroit. Giants aren’t going anywhere so maybe he can join them at the Deadline. AL Central is so wide open especially with Cleveland blowing it up. Aka not wanting to pay anybody per usual. Probably between the Tigers and Royals,
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
