Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 Man I love baseball. Those playoffs were incredible to watch. Big time performances, big time home runs, big time comebacks. I don't even mind the errors - it just shows you how even the best make mistakes and that sometimes the pressure of the big game gets to the best of them. Kike cements himself in Dodgers lore after getting some glasses mid-season. Buehler somehow finds himself after a terrible season. Those knuckle curves were unhittable. Props to Cole for a gutsy performance. To pitch into the 7th after that 5th inning, with a blister and thus no slider, was impressive. Huge congrats to Freddie - that's a legendary performance. Congrats to my man Teo and I love that KK retires a champion (wish he was on the roster though!). The game of baseball is just such a beautiful thing - especially the playoffs. It was nice to just watch it as a baseball fan, with no true rooting interest. Without all the negativity, second guessing, bitching, etc. that we all far too often add to the Blue Jays games.
BatFlip Verified Member Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 This was a fun post season. Congrats to Teoscar for getting a ring. Now time for some Blue Jays news. Agreed. Let the games begin!

The Jays being in the playoffs just adds a certain amount of stress that makes things slightly less enjoyable. And we've been fortunate enough to have those stressful moments for the last several years (2020-2023, yes 2021 was still stressful til the final day). It was kinda nice to have 0 expectations or stakes this October. And there were some absolutely epic games. And the best team won, wasn't a fluke WS like last year with teams that really shouldn't have been there.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted November 1, 2024 Posted November 1, 2024 Apparently Freeman played the entire playoffs with broken rib cartilage. The legend grows.

DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted November 1, 2024 Posted November 1, 2024 Pretty sure he's upset with Ohtani signing with the Dodgers over the Blue Jays. Easiest decision in sports history if you ask me and this only validates it. Somehow in his mind Aaron Boone and the Yankees winning would be better. Or somehow Ohtani winning a WS overshadows Canadian hero Freddie Freeman winning WS MVP. Former Jays Teoscar and KK winning rings. Etc. Grant is a little unstable lol
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted November 1, 2024 Posted November 1, 2024 ^Not built for Blue Jays playoff baseball I've been hurt too many times. Its draining. - The 14 inning loss to the Rangers - 14-5 beatdown by the Royals - Both Seattle games
