Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 Ryan Yarborough coming back.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 They also picked up Flaherty from the Tigers. Dodgers going balls out at the deadline
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 Yarborough makes 3.9M, that should get us plenty under the threshold?
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 That's a solid trade for KK, get him to the WS favourites. We save money and get someone to eat innings.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 This seems like one of those "good faith" moves. KK says he retiring at the end of the year. He has little to no value on the trade market (even if the Jays eat the rest of his contract), so they move him (and hopefully all of the remaining money) to the Dodgers to give him one last shot at a title. Jays get someone to "protect" the younger arms for the rest of the season. I'm good with this.

And on the other end, it's his former employer (Friedman) giving KK a shot to play on a contender to round out his last season

hanton Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 Great move to give KK a chance at the postseason, Dodgers going to love him in CF - he's going to make some highlight reel catches down the stretch.

I hope the thrill of the playoff race gives KK a little dead cat bounce. He's had a REALLY good career and is one of the best defensive CFers to ever play the game IMO. He certainly still has the ability to be a difference maker in October. I hope his body cooperates and we get to see it. I know I'll be rooting him on.
rydermike Verified Member Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 We had Pillar, then Kiermaier. Who's our next star defense meh offense CF
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 We had Pillar, then Kiermaier. Who's our next star defense meh offense CF Is this a trick question
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 We had Pillar, then Kiermaier. Who's our next star defense meh offense CF I can't tell if you're serious...
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 30, 2024 Author Posted July 30, 2024 We had Pillar, then Kiermaier. Who's our next star defense meh offense CF I think we already have him....

I can't tell if you're serious... lmao
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 We had Pillar, then Kiermaier. Who's our next star defense meh offense CF Maybe the best OF'er in the game Varsho???
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 It will be Outman in CF, KK will get starts and come off the bench. Roberts uses ALL his players
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 It will be Outman in CF, KK will get starts and come off the bench. Roberts uses ALL his players Outman and KK have the same wRC+ this season (53). That's one hell of a sophomore slump.

Yea he hasn't been good at all, spent alot of time in AAA as well. The bottom of that order is not good - ohtani/freeman/smith/betts/teo carry the team - surprised they didn't pick-up any bats

Joltin Joe Verified Member Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 Could Yarborough be our swing guy next year?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 26, 2024 Author Posted August 26, 2024 Could Yarborough be our swing guy next year? Absolutely could be Or lefty killer out of the pen
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 26, 2024 Author Posted August 26, 2024 But he's a free agent after the season We prob don't outbid everyone for him
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 But he's a free agent after the season We prob don't outbid everyone for him The Dodgers DFA’d him which makes me think his value isn’t incredibly high. But useful.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 26, 2024 Author Posted August 26, 2024 lol... Yarbrough's s***. He might still be useful in a specific role
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 He might still be useful in a specific role Nah, he's out of options and Jays want to contend next season.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
