That's a solid trade for KK, get him to the WS favourites. We save money and get someone to eat innings.

This seems like one of those "good faith" moves. KK says he retiring at the end of the year. He has little to no value on the trade market (even if the Jays eat the rest of his contract), so they move him (and hopefully all of the remaining money) to the Dodgers to give him one last shot at a title. Jays get someone to "protect" the younger arms for the rest of the season.

I'm good with this.

I'm good with every single move, nice one by the Birds.

And on the other end, it's his former employer (Friedman) giving KK a shot to play on a contender to round out his last season

I'm very happy with the execution this deadline

Committed to a plan and executed very well

I mean it's depressing but they 100% did it right

Great move to give KK a chance at the postseason, Dodgers going to love him in CF - he's going to make some highlight reel catches down the stretch.

100% The Dodgers will be easy to cheer for in October. I hope the thrill of the playoff race gives KK a little dead cat bounce. He's had a REALLY good career and is one of the best defensive CFers to ever play the game IMO. He certainly still has the ability to be a difference maker in October. I hope his body cooperates and we get to see it. I know I'll be rooting him on.

Depends on Outman and Pages, but KK is a viable defensive replacement and pinch runner, he'll get his starts.

I can't tell if you're serious...

lmao

It will be Outman in CF, KK will get starts and come off the bench. Roberts uses ALL his players

Outman and KK have the same wRC+ this season (53). That's one hell of a sophomore slump.

Yea he hasn't been good at all, spent alot of time in AAA as well.

The bottom of that order is not good - ohtani/freeman/smith/betts/teo carry the team - surprised they didn't pick-up any bats

But he's a free agent after the season

We prob don't outbid everyone for him

The Dodgers DFA’d him which makes me think his value isn’t incredibly high. But useful.
