Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 The Jays would have had better offensive success if they went to the batters box without a bat
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 Can someone get a hit tonight and preserve what little remains of our dignity? Do it for the poor children.
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 I realize that everyone is angry and the knives are out. But there's absolutely a scenario where Shapiro is retained and this team thrives. You don't need to replace the President to fix the development issues on the baseball ops side.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 Those board members have gone M.I.A lately loll. As they should lmao

Shapiro has to own it.

Of course there is There is a scenario where Atkins is given an extension and the team thrives The question is what are the odds of that happening

But the product on the field is the most important part of his job and the main thing people give a crap about. This guy has been talking about construction projects for like 7 years. The fact he didn't feel it was necessary to can Atkins after last year also made his seat a lot hotter. Now I can live with him staying if Atkins and Schneider are canned immediately but he shouldnt have much leeway. This team is trending in all the wrong directions and we haven't even achieved any real success with him yet. They've been here for 9+ years now ffs.

If there is any accountability on the baseball performance side he should go. He is 100% in charge of baseball decisions also.

Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 Jansen saved us the embarrassment of a lifetime... thank you!!! Lol
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 I f***ing knew Jansen and Babe would save us!!!

I don't even know if he's interested in keeping the job, but he can probably buy himself another 5 years by firing Atkins, saying that there's been a failure of development here, then poaching Matt Arnold or something and giving him complete autonomy over baseball ops. That would be fine.
The_DH Verified Member Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 Jansen and the Babe. The only hitters worth watching.
philly30 Verified Member Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 Maybe a perfect game would have sparked some changes
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 We have a pulse. Had one big comeback this week. Lets have another.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 Schneider is going to bench Jano and Davis Schneider tomorrow.................just because. edit...........and Varsho too.

Omar Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 Well at least the people in attendance got something to cheer for. We've all been to games that have been duds. Terrible downer leaving the ballpark.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 Don't worry folks, Vogelbach is here to watch strike 3 down the middle
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 Should have taken the easy out of Silverbach at 1B. 2 run lead.

Terrible downer leaving the ballpark. I saw the Jays get absolutely lambasted at Yankees stadium a few years back. That absolutely sucked. Fun to go to the park, but that wore off quick when the Jays started booting the ball around and giving up bombs. Hard to feel good when your team can't even do the simple things, like catch and throw.
keggy Verified Member Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 Diaz made the correct decision with Vogelbach running, it just went to s***.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 You have got to be kidding me... f*** you Springer
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 It remains absurd that Springer gets the most PA of anyone on the team
