gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 Yimi Garcia might have the best stuff in our bullpen. Are you guys high? As we speak.. If the team situation stays status quo and we are in the mix at the deadline, not getting a bat rental will the finally be the demise of Ross.

Skinny Wolf Verified Member Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 1. Garcia should stay as closer until he falls of cliff 2. Rodríguez is 5th starter until Manoah returs 3. D Schneider should play everyday 4. trade guerrero while he still has value

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 Manoah isn't returning.. How do you know this? I mean I'm hoping baby Jesus he gets s*** right, why don't you?
The_DH Verified Member Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 Truth of the matter is that Manoah's path back to the majors is not clear.

Laika Community Moderator Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 Manoah isn't returning.. He probably is returning, but he will just suck
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 Manoah has to stay in AAA until he strings a few good starts together no? I mean who would he be replacing anyways??
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 Manoah has to stay in AAA until he strings a few good starts together no? I mean who would he be replacing anyways?? The team inexplicably promoted him last year They treat him like a 10 year vet

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 2025 rotation: Gausman Berrios Tiedemann Bassitt Rodriguez
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 2025 rotation: Gausman Berrios Tiedemann Bassitt Rodriguez Tiedemann? Yeah right
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 Tiedemann? Yeah right When he's only 21 and I'm giving him another year to figure it out? I don't feel like that's unrealistic.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 When he's only 21 and I'm giving him another year to figure it out? I don't feel like that's unrealistic. He’s ringing all the Nate Pearson bells for me. I really want him to succeed but I won’t get my hopes up.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 Garcia is insane right now It's against the Rockies, but yeah what a start over his first 6.2 innings of the season!
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 If Garcia keeps pitching like that, he should stay closing even when Romano comes back. LOL easy there. It's against the Rockies and he's only pitched 6.2 innings so far this season. Definitely off to a fantastic start, but don't get ahead of yourself.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 I want to see Yariel force his way into the starting rotation permanently. Let that be a "problem" for them to figure out. Yariel will be in the rotation permanently. The Jays gave him a 5-year deal just this offseason. As long as he's effective and healthy, he's in the rotation.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 *IKF puts up half a WAR in 2 weeks playing the position identified as our biggest weakness this offseason* "We shouldn't have wasted money on him, we should have gotten a bat instead" LOL. Only 13 games and 40 PA's. If you think IKF can keep up at that pace, you're nuts. I hope IKF can be a 1.5 - 2 WAR guy over a full season, I'll be happy.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 So what is the Jays record now with David Schneider in the lineup?
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 Yeah they didn't sign him to a 5 year deal to pitch out of the bullpen... I don't think they did. If he can be a 2-3 WAR starting pitcher every season, there definitely is more value to that. Plan is for him to be a starter. Worst case scenario, if he doesn't pan out as a starter, he ends up in the BP.

Key phrase being "IF he keeps pitching like that" You see, I already put the caveat in myself so you didn't really need to come along and put basically the same caveat in that I did.
