I think Kiguchi will be cut, because he's awful in spring training, idem with Voldenbach who is useless since we sign Votto. Schneider will be send to Buffalo, and depending if Gausmann no placed on IL, Tidermann can start few games before be send in AAA. Barger, Clemens, Lukes deserve to be in opening roster. White is far to be one of my fav, but he pitched better than Kiguchi. Rodriguez will be more useful as SP than on bullpen .

Kikuchi will be cut because he's been bad in spring training......

Gonna let someone else handle that one.

With his 16.43 ERA, for sure he need to be cut. If this was M White, R Tidermann, Y Rodriguez, or T Richards who had such stats, I doubt you will want them on the roster. So need to be fair, and keep the players who deserve to play.

No-one's getting Designated and it sure isn't Lukes, lol. Vogelbach isn't making this team.

Another Spanky gem.

I gotta admit, I thought Spanky was right.

I still think it was the wrong move, I'd rather have saved the 2M for the deadline budget, Lukes would have been fine for a month or so. I guess they obviously don't care or think this first 6 weeks are big for maybe a 100 ABs. Meh... didn't think they'd have done it, no sweat off my balls though.

Spanky was wrong but his logic was right. It’s not his fault Atkins made the wrong decision.

Cheers mate, just cracked a pint for some Gasman!!!

Disagree, you guys are completely ignoring the projections on Vogelbach's bat. We need pop in the lineup and he gives you the best chance at leaving the yard, plus a good option off the bench. He's used to the role.

And Votto sucks, he won't do anything this year. You guys are living in the past.

Congrats to you and all the other Danny Burgers fanboys on your guy making the team.

But mark my words, his days are limited because Joey Votto is coming and there is nothing that fat ass can do to stop it.

I guarantee you that it was Danny Burgers that placed the bat in the dugout that Votto rolled his ankle on.

He saw Votto take Wheeler deep on the first pitch and knew he had to do something.

FTFY.

Why don't we sign Albert f***IN Pujols while we're at it?

It's a bench spot dude, and at least Votto can play a position and is chiseled up , unlike lifetime fatty 31 year old 2.1 fWAR Danny Cheeseburger.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider says “it’s reasonable to say” that Jordan Romano and Erik Swanson will start the season on the IL.

Both Romano and Swanson are playing catch early this week and, should they not experience any setbacks, would likely increase to bullpens before facing live hitters. Given how important both pitchers are to the Blue Jays’ bullpen, it’s unlikely the team will rush either of them back until they are fully healthy. Yimi Garcia will likely serve as the Blue Jays’ closer until either Romano or Swanson return.

Hate the idea of Yimi as "THE CLOSER" even if it would only be a few chances.

Would prefer they just play matchups.

Mayza (if healthy) vs lefties and certain hitters, Green vs certain hitters

Damn. Ole Barker boy had me thinking he(Romano) was coming back in Houston.

In all seriousness, any time a minor league signing like Vogelbach sees the team sign a future hall of famer to the same position you can't help but think his days are limited.

Votto's rolled ankle is worse than we thought (still isn't playing) and had to have helped Vogelbach.

But Vogelbach does project well and the team must seem hellbent on having a lefty bat with some thump on the bench. With versatile utility players up and down the roster it makes sense.

Also, it seems like this org places a high priority on being a player friendly org. I'm sure when Vogelbach signed, certain promises and guarantees were made to him regarding giving him a fair shot to make the team and things like that. Pulling the rug out from underneath him in the last minute would cut against that.

I don't think Votto was ever making the team out of ST unless he put on a clinic in addition to both Voggy and Horwitz bombing

Some of you are acting like Joey Votto is a couple weeks away from getting called up and putting up a 120 wrc+

Votto has barely hit above the mendoza line the last two seasons. There is a chance he’s toast. If you get a free look at Vogelbach why not?
