Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 Report: Blue Jays sign Votto to minor-league contract https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2834739
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 Does he have anything left in the tank, he’s looked done before and had a great season 2 years ago. He’s also 40 now though lol
deanmike Verified Member Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 Send Vogelbach packing immediately
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2024 Author Posted March 8, 2024 (edited) My 2 cents have always been that Votto didn't care to being a Blue Jay when he was actually good so I don't care to have him on the team when he's probably completely washed. Now with that said, Turner is 39 so it wouldn't be the craziest thing for Votto to have a random bounce back season. Hopefully the Jays can determine things quick in Spring Training. Sorrow Verified Member Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 I love me some Votto. He’s my favourite player of all time and as much as I want him to now be a player for us I still want the best team going north.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 My 2 cents have always been that Votto didn't care to bring a Blue Jay when he was actually good so I don't care to have him on the team when he's probably completely washed. Now with that said, Turner is 39 so it wouldn't be the craziest thing for Votto to have a random bounce back season. Hopefully the Jays can determine things quick in Spring Training. Yeah same. Its a whatever move
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 lol @ Vogelbach being "very promising"

Specifically said he doesn’t care about TO

Apology was only because he got a lot of blowback. Again, I don't hate Votto but I could care less about giving him a spot because it feels good. If Vogelbach is 1% better than Votto then I'm taking Vogelbach.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 Cut Vogelfat right away. Votto is f***ing here. I use to dream about this day a decade ago. Veteran presents off the charts.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 Horwitz seen reading a book called “don’t jump” I think the slow start Horwitz is having contributed to the Votto signing.
RobinThicc Verified Member Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 Vogelback is way better than this old f***
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 Vogelbach is gone. There is zero chance in hell he makes the team over a hometown HoFer and one of the best baseball personalities in 20 years. Give Votto the month of April and see how it goes. If he sucks we can just move him to the Front Office or coaching staff and go with Horwitz.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 Cut Vogelfat right away. Votto is f***ing here. I use to dream about this day a decade ago. Veteran presents off the charts. Too bad they didn't get him a decade ago. This guys a washed up bum.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 I can't believe the slander in this thread towards one of our great national treasures. If there's even a 10% chance we get something like Pujols' last run with St.Louis, you cut Vogelbach immediately to give it a chance
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 The Turner/Votto DH platoon will combine for 80 years, 35 homers and incalculable levels of vetrin presents.

If Vogelbach is 1% better than Votto then I'm taking Vogelbach. that has nothing to do with the Blue Jays honestly Jays fans are kind of cringe for ever expecting Votto to have been desperate to come to Toronto there was never a point where it made sense for Toronto to want to take on his contract, anyway
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 Vogelback is way better than this old f*** Most likely yeah. People are getting way too caught up in the name. Votto aint gonna sit on the bench for 5 days and come up with a PH homer. Voggie might.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 Vogelback is way better than this old f*** Mods
wamco Verified Member Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 Christ, you syrup suckers get votto on a minor league deal and you are still miserable.

He’s a converted American at this point. Who cares.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 He publicly trashed canada. He’s a converted American at this point. Who cares. It was refreshing honesty. Why would anyone expect him to care about James Paxton throwing a no-hitter or whatever?
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 If we were talking about replacing prime David Ortiz with Votto I would get the concern from all you no-fun buzzkills. But we are talking about replacing Danny Burgers lmao

BTS Community Moderator Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 Even Twitter is basically unanimously supportive of Votto in the replies. Twitter! And Yet BJMB are a bunch of butthurt losers.

Again, I'm impartial and only want him on the team if he outperforms his peers. I care about this team's Wins and Losses total... not a feel good story.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
