Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2024 Posted March 3, 2024 Paolo Espino is a demi god DWL. He's just amazing
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2024 Posted March 3, 2024 Came here just to see Kirk and Vogelbach on the bases at the same time lol
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2024 Posted March 3, 2024 Umps are in fine form already, geez
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2024 Author Posted March 3, 2024 Not a fan of Vggelbach and Schneider's two strike approaches, both were late on the fastball. Vogelbach fouled his off and struck out on a back up elevated slider, but Schneider was just late. Stop guessing at what's coming boys.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2024 Author Posted March 3, 2024 Nice running catch by Roden there up against the fake monster.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2024 Posted March 3, 2024 give Barger a shot as a 4th OF, he's essentially Vogel at the plate but can play the field.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2024 Posted March 3, 2024 Starting to think Espino might earn a 40-man spot
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2024 Posted March 3, 2024 Damn, I didn't know about the Schneider glove story. Pretty damn cool lol
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2024 Posted March 3, 2024 Starting to think Espino might earn a 40-man spot No statcast today is annoying. I'd like to look under the hood.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2024 Author Posted March 3, 2024 No statcast today is annoying. I'd like to look und er the hood. HIs fastball is like 88-89 mph, throws a slider/sweeper, curve and change. Probably safe to say his stuff is similar to last year. He'd going into his age 37 season so probably not much new stuff to find. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/paolo-espino-502179?stats=statcast-r-pitching-mlb

Even vets come in to Spring with new tricks up their sleeve.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2024 Posted March 3, 2024 How many seeing eye singles will Schneider squeak through the infield this season?
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2024 Author Posted March 3, 2024 give Barger a shot as a 4th OF, he's essentially Vogel at the plate but can play the field. Please explain your thought process here when the Jays have 3 extremely good OF, two of which hit LH and all 3 of which are capable of playing CF. The 4th OF for the Jays pretty much needs to be RH. I dont think Vogelback makes the team in any case unless he has such a monster spring that it can't be ignored, but even then his role is so limited in that he's a LH pinch hitter and DH who should never see a PA against LHP, why would you want to put a guy like Barger in that role when Barger actually has the chance to be an everyday guy?

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2024 Posted March 3, 2024 give Barger a shot as a 4th OF, he's essentially Vogel at the plate but can play the field. Barger hitting the 60th percentile projections as a 3B/RF would be a pretty sweet addition to the team. And you're right, him being able to play the field (over Vogelbach who can't) means less Turner at 3B, more DH days for Springer, etc.

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2024 Author Posted March 3, 2024 DAmn... just a tick foul
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2024 Posted March 3, 2024 Cam Eden jogging his way to being thrown out, wow.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2024 Posted March 3, 2024 Glad to see the Jays baserunning is in mid-season form lol
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2024 Posted March 3, 2024 Really? It was mentioned in pretty much every game he played in last season. lol Already yelling at my brain for not retaining this Schneider fact lol
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2024 Author Posted March 3, 2024 Cam Eden jogging his way to bring thrown out, wow. Play was right in front of him too, just a piss poor decision to try for 3rd there. Out by like 20 feet.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2024 Author Posted March 3, 2024 Kirk with a fat powered HR.

He's 24 and needs to be tested - 4th OF or otherwise makes no difference

hanton Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2024 Posted March 3, 2024 time to move on from Espinal, players like him are a dime a dozen, Dodgers pick up players like this every season - as the 26th man / util player
