Omar Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Velo is down, but Kimbrel has rebounded in the past. He's probably a solid target if you can get him for $4M next year. I've always been a big fan of Kimbrel. Seems in recent years he starts off great then tends to crash in the last third of the season. Arm fatigue due to age?
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 You have something to back this up? If not, it's simply your bias talking Does connor ever have anything to back his opinions up other than “feelings” and anecdotes?
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Does connor ever have anything to back his opinions up other than “feelings” and anecdotes? I’ll throw out one more. Sports talk is 90% opinions

What I said about families, which is opinion. The financial aspect is hard fact, based on player finances across the leagues after retirement. Look it up. I don’t do people’s research

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 They're making some noise. Would be fun to see them make the WC. I have no interest in watching the Twins in the playoffs. I guess give me KC, as it would be good for baseball to have Bobby Witt in the playoffs - although I'm not very interested in seeing Minny, Detroit or KC in the playoffs if I'm being honest. It would also be hilarious if Baltimore fell out of the playoffs (not that I expect that to happen).

I bet $10 on the Royals before the season at 126 to 1 odds to win the World Series, so will be rooting for them in the Postseason haha. Will be good to have Bobby Witt in the playoffs for sure.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Tigers tied for the WC spot now, remarkable.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Tigers tied for the WC spot now, remarkable. Love to see it, I called them making the playoffs this year, just might be right.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 If Detroit hosts any Postseason games, would make the drive down for sure one weekend.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Would prefer the Tigers make it over the Twins. Looks like Twins own the tiebreaker so Tigers have to finish 1 game better. Should be a fun race down the stretch. Kinda sucks that the bar for WC3 is low this season and the Jays are so far out of it.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Ohtani, #49 booya. He already has the 50 SBs. He's got to do this. What a historic season.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Love to see it, I called them making the playoffs this year, just might be right. Let’s see the snip or it didn’t happen
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 I’ll say again. I’ll guess $3m+ for Ohtani ball. If I was there, I’d buy ticket for heck of it. Go to a couple games, worst and likely case (if he hits it), you just get to see 50/50 in person
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 You don't do ANY research. I won’t dispute this. I’ll just say if I happened to come across an article with data along the way and retained the information

hanton Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 ...lots of speculation they might pull him so he gets it at home instead, nope.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Greatest player to ever play the f***ing game. And it’s not even close.

thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Shohei is the greatest baseball player to ever live.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Straight the HOF for this unicorn. I’ve seen a lot of greatness in baseball but this guy is a new level of elite. Need a new descriptor word coined to describe him.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Ohtani 6-6 3 HR, 2 2B, 10 RBI +27.6% WPA LMAO... greatest ever. Have a game!
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 Ohtani goes 6-6 with 3 HRs, 10 RBIs and 2 SBs to reach 50/50. It's hard to fathom how incredible that is.
