Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2024 Posted February 16, 2024 Kyle Bradish (elbow) said Friday that he’s very confident he’ll pitch this season. Bradish is scheduled to resume throwing Friday for the first time since receiving a PRP injection to address a right elbow sprain. The history of pitchers opting for the rest and recovery route, instead of surgery, following a UCL injury isn’t all that encouraging. However, we’re not willing to rule out the possibility that Bradish will ultimately be able to make it back and pitch this season. Chances are he comes back sometime in July, pitches a couple of games, is shutdown and has TJS, misses 2025 in its entirety. Just get the damn thing done now, come back in early 2025.

It seems like these conservative treatment options almost never work, but at the same time not everyone fully recovers from Tommy John surgery either. Look at a guy like Syndergaard who simply wasn't the same after his own surgical procedure.

Look at a guy like Syndergaard who simply wasn't the same after his own surgical procedure. You can’t expect it to have 100% success but if you throw a broken guy out there for half a season then decide he needs TJS you’ve effectively lost two seasons instead of one Question is how much of it is up to the player, because I think he would prefer to try and rehab and rest instead of end his season before it started
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2024 Posted February 17, 2024 The smart play would be to have Bradish have the surgery and sign Snell
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2024 Posted February 17, 2024 The smart play would be to have Bradish have the surgery and sign Snell Agreed, and the player has to agree.

deanmike Verified Member Posted February 17, 2024 Posted February 17, 2024 Grichuk to the DBacks for 2M
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2024 Posted February 17, 2024 Surprised the Jays wouldn't have given him a bit more $, as he would be a decent fit on roster. Perhaps Grichuk wanted to play in AZ though as he lives there in offseason.
max silver Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2024 Posted February 17, 2024 Grichuk to the DBacks for 2M I would have been cool with Grichuk as 4th outfielder for this type of coin.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2024 Author Posted February 17, 2024 I would have been cool with Grichuk as 4th outfielder for this type of coin. Grichuk likely has no interest in coming back to TO for that though, and i doubt the Jays FO would be all that interested either.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2024 Posted February 17, 2024 The truth is nobody knows for certain what either Grichuk or the Jays FO were thinking in regards to a potential reunion

Just not much impact past this in AA or A. And the rotation could be Ricky YRod White Francis

Can always fake IL for a couple weeks and then bring him back on a rehab stint untill a spot opens up.

MikeM3 Verified Member Posted February 18, 2024 Posted February 18, 2024 This is sad. Just assign Bauer to the A's
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 18, 2024 Posted February 18, 2024 At this point I just want Bauer to sign with an NPB team and get it over with. It's awkward watching him beg for a job.
