I was shocked that he stole that. Dude is so much slower than you'd expect but is stealing bases in this series somehow lol

 

base stealing is more about instincts then pure speed or at the very minimum speed is only half of it

He went on first move, there were zero instincts in that SB, other than a smart time to run?

Why is it being framed as luck when having success signing value priced bounce back options out of free agency? This front office has had a ton of success on these types of signings, such as Semien, Ray, and now Belt and Kiermaier as well. It's too bad they weren't able to get Semien signed long term but he's the only one of the bunch I would have been interested in anyway.

 

There is always luck involved when any team makes a FA value signing. There is nothing wrong with that.

 

Semien and Ray are again not in the same conversation as KK or Belt. Semien was 29 when the Blue Jays signed him to a one-year contract and he was a year removed from a 6.5 WAR season. Ray was 28 when the Jays traded for him and he had 2-3 solid years in Arizona before. Belt was 35 and KK was 33. Both of those guys were on the wrong side of 30, aging players with durability issues and outside of their prime.

Moreno actually made a great play. By heading to second he forces the Phillies to exchange the lead run for an out. In the top of 5 in Game 7 it shows great baseball instincts

Give it a f***ing rest, CD. You're taught to force a cut.

 

If the fielding team thinks they can get the runner at home with 2 outs and no one else on base they will. Regardless of what the runner rounding first is doing. If you cut the ball in that situation it is because you know you can’t get the runner at home.

 

Two out with Carrol running.. You don’t need to sacrafice yourself for nothing to get him to score.
