I don’t think he is the type of player wired that way. I think he is always trying 110%. I think he just needed to get locked in and some luck. New team, new league, batting 3-5 to start. I think he needed time to regress to his norm.

 

His D and hustle never faulted.

Not saying he doesn't hustle or play hard. His Defense has certainly never faulted. But less playing time is his reality if he doesn't start hitting and that's extra motivation for anyone. He's not going to play LF every day if other guys are getting hot.
