I enjoy the discussion actually. I'm curious what changes they would make based on the new rules? Wouldn't they want to pull the ball more now that there are restrictions to the shift? Surely the larger bases have no impact to the hitting strategy?

The shift ban has heavily impacted BABIP on groundballs (I don’t think im talking out my ass here??) and so I think they have made more of an effort to have speedy guys and to hit to contact more. I’m pretty sure I heard Ross mentioning it once or twice in the offseason. Its why they went for speedy lefties like Varsho and KK. The bigger bases also means less distance to 1st, so again speedier guys like Whit, Varsho, KK. And obviously a heavier emphasis on being aggressive on the bases overall.

Im actually surprised we didn’t keep Tapia but I guess he was redundant with Varsho and KK

Just luck, not game planning or anything. Orioles are a s*** bag organization who had a joke trade deadline. Flaherty....

Not gonna lie, guys gonna pitch a 1 hit shut out, but he's a joke, Orioles are going to win the division, they're a joke.

Don't worry next team we play is a joke too.

The fact that Ross isn't interested in possibly instilling something different in the line up with Schneider, Horowitz, Lukes, ect is an issue in itself. f***ing mind boggling ********.

We seem very slow to promote when it comes to lower-ranked prospects in the system. Especially from AAA to the majors. Outside of Manoah, Vlad, Bo, Pearson, Kirk, Jansen, we haven’t promoted guys quickly at all

If we go into Boston status quo, good chance we get swept. If you don't score at least 4-5 runs at Fenway, you'll probably lose the game. Get Schneider and Horwitz up here and send Biggio and DeJong down. Start Whit at second with Espinal at short, Schneider in LF and give Horowitz a look somehow. We need OBP and a some pop in the line up. The fact that Ross doesn't want his pride but hurt is going to cost us a playoff spot.

On top of the struggles of Belt/ Guerrero/ Springer and Chapman who are considered the heart of the order but they are followed by the “colon” of the order…Kirk/ Varsho and DeJong.

The brain is the clueless of a hitting Coach Martinez and the spine is Hudgens

The creation of Atkins

So Chapman was looking off speed the whole way in his previous at bat, but doesn't look for not even one in this at bat. This team's offensive approach is lost in space.
