jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Hicks had a rough April, but since he's rocking a 2.67 ERA, 2.39 FIP.

tossingthiscoin Verified Member Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 aside from his walk rate Yes, I hope our pitching staff can fix his walk issues.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 When everyone is healthy (Romano and Green) he can pitch in a lot of scenarios. I can see him pitching the 6th after a Ryu start.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Hitters will s*** their pants....
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Jordan Hicks, last 33 appearances: 36 IP 53 K (34.4%) 16 BB (10.4%) 2.25 ERA 1.92 FIP 86.2 EV 62.2% GB
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Hicks is a great get. Hits 104, averages 101.
tossingthiscoin Verified Member Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 He's a rental, so I don't think we gave up many valuable players for the trade.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Hicks has been good in July.. Not important what he has done prior to that this year.
PhillyBlueJay Verified Member Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Romano 97-99 Hicks 99-102 Pearson 97-100 Garcia 96-98 Swanson 95-96 Mayza 96-97 Pop - 96-98 Jackson 95-96 That’s a lot of f***ing heat! Need to 100% designate Mitch White now instead of shuffling Jackson or Pearson back to AAA. Would piss off players and fans time to let him hit waiver wire which I think he would pass through!
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Mitch Bannon @MitchBannon Jordan Hicks had a rough April, but since he's rocking a 2.67 ERA, 2.39 FIP. He throws 100 MPH and strikes out a bunch. May not always know where it's going, but it works. #BlueJays Good move, no word on return?
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Source: Right-hander Adam Kloffenstein is going to the St. Louis Cardinals from the Toronto Blue Jays in the Jordan Hicks trade. Unclear if there’s others involved.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Romano 97-99 Hicks 99-102 Pearson 97-100 Garcia 96-98 Swanson 95-96 Mayza 96-97 Pop - 96-98 Jackson 95-96 That’s a lot of f***ing heat! You’re overestimating all of these guys’ velos by 1-2 mph lol. Ironically also forgot Genesis Cabrera who is 95-98.

Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Nice of Kloff to bounce back well enough to land us a fireballer reliver at the deadline.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 My guess is Kloff and a guy like Connor cooke Robertson landed a AA starter and a AA reliever, this return is probably similar
jerb Verified Member Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Jeff Passan @JeffPassan BREAKING: The Texas Rangers are finalizing a trade to acquire left-handed starter Jordan Montgomery from the St. Louis Cardinals, sources tell ESPN.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Sem Robberse and Kloffenstein is the return. Pricey as expected.
PhillyBlueJay Verified Member Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 The questions is…. Does Schneider have the balls to announce him as “The Closer” until Romano comes back and what if Romano falters after coming back, do we deal with Romano’s pride versus sticking with Hicks?! Will be interesting!
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Jordan Montgomery going to the Rangers. Cardinals pulling triggers today.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Jays SP Sem (SP?) Roberse the 2nd piece going for Hicks.
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Did the Rangers really need another starter? That rotation now is crazy
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 If 2 non roster guys are the return for Hicks, they’d still have to DFA someone right?
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 How the hell did the Rangers go from being a joke to potentially being favourites to win the whole damn thing so quick man lol
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 If 2 non roster guys are the return for Hicks, they’d still have to DFA someone right? It better be someone who rhymes with fight, light or bitch tight.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 It better be someone who rhymes with tight, light or bitch, tight. May as well just throw him in the trade
max silver Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Sem Robberse and Kloffenstein is the return. Pricey as expected. Damn that's a really steep price. Definitely needed another leverage arm with Romano on the shelf right now so good on Atkins for pulling the trigger.
