Nice series win puts us half a game out of the wildcard, 1 game back of the Yanks and 3 back of the O's. Shoutout to Kirk for some timely hits this series. Shoutout to Kirk for also not being able to make it home from second base on what should be an easy run scored for an mlb player. Remember this is the guy we kept over Moreno haha. Time will tell obviously but I still think it was a s*** decision.

 

Yes, I do remember Kirk coming up with 2 very important clutch hits that directly helped us win the last two games.

There’s no reason to keep rehashing this “should have traded Kirk” thing. You don’t even know that he was wanted in the trade so thinking the Jays simply preferred to trade Moreno instead of Kirk for the package they got is just mental gymnastics

 

Meh its such a polarizing trade it is going to be rehashed over and over and over for the next 4 years till we get a solid result in who won and loss. So I dont know what else to tell you but should probably get used to it. Im sure there was another trade with another team that could have netted a decent player for Kirk or Jansen while keeping Moreno and LGJ. But we will never know.

I've never seen so many people divided over a Blue Jays trade.

 

The pro Kirk side goes crazy if you criticize Kirk or say anything bad about him and want Moreno to fail miserably.

 

The pro Moreno side loves hating on Kirk and want him to fail miserably.

According to fangraphs they are very similar this year with Kirk rated as a slightly better baserunner... both power less. Kirk with way better k/bb. Kirk slightly better over all because he gets on base more.

 

What was it with Kirks slide last night? Feet first right into the catcher? Does he not have any fancy slides in his repertoire? Was he even wearing a glove? If he is going in feet first would some oversized shoes help?

Board is biased towards 'Athletes'. To make board happy Jays should search for modern version of Deon Sanders or Bo Jackson, someone athletic enough to play football too.

Isn't that why we traded for Varsho? I'm pretty sure he's the middle linebacker for the Argos too.

The other "seemingly" decent options would have been Alek Thomas (wRC+ 55, -0.2 WAR) and Dylan Carlson (wRC+ 74, -0.1 WAR). I guess some might float Nootbar out there, but he's also cooled off and his power has evaporated (which is minor league numbers suggested could happen).
