Agreed. Also Vladdy made a great reaction play getting the ball on the rebound and getting to Jansen to have a play at the plate. I hope he went back to the dugout and yelled "Nah!" to Bo like his annoying peanut-butter commercials...

It looked like Espinal could have flipped to Bo on the run and would have had the runner by a half a step easily. Bo needs to be able to throw over the top to first when a runner is sliding closely in on him. His torso was straight up on the release in order to avoid hitting the runner. You're going to yank the throw way more often that way. I think Bo will get better and turn into an everage shortstop. If you believe, I'd give him a Trae Turner type contract. Bo's bat is only going to get better, scary.

Mayza has been great this year. That he has a 1.5 ERA and 1.32 FIP with a BABIP over .400 is awfully impressive.

Overall I feel he has gotten better defensively. Fewer bad throws and fewer times throwing when he just shouldn't. The latter seems like the biggest change.

Exactly. Deciding not to throw when you shouldn't be throing is a surefire way to reduce throwing errors.
