Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2023 Author Posted May 6, 2023 Chase De Jong excellent pitcher to get add on runs against.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 The case is made, there really is no reason to not be playing Merrifield. “He’s old and needs rest days” - someone in the Jays front office
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Ugh...well I guess a triple should bring Kirk home.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Pirates easily could’ve gone 3rd to 2nd there
keggy Verified Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Schneider makes better decisions when the bullpen is worn out.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2023 Author Posted May 6, 2023 “He’s old and needs rest days” - someone in the Jays front office I wonder how many guys that are old and need extra rest are getting 3 steals in a game.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2023 Author Posted May 6, 2023 Very happy for Jay Jackson. I feel he will pitch well for us.
The_DH Verified Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 I don't get it: the bullpen's been worn, we brought up Jackson, we're ahead 4 runs, why not throw Jackson in there and save Swanson?
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 I don't get it: the bullpen's been worn, we brought up Jackson, we're ahead 4 runs, why not throw Jackson in there and save Swanson? And we top it off with Romano.

The_DH Verified Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 And we top it off with Romano. Exactly. Makes no sense to me.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Exactly. Makes no sense to me. "They need the work," Then we will throw Jay Jackson in high leverage for his debut with us.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2023 Author Posted May 6, 2023 They want to snap the 5 game losing streak. No f***ing around. Use your best relievers. Its 4-0 not 6-0. If it was 3-0 nobody would be saying s***.

The_DH Verified Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Hey if you use Jackson and he walks three guys then you can bring some high leverage in.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2023 Author Posted May 6, 2023 How about Jonn Boi and the Hound Dogg combining for a big victory to snapping the losing streak tonight!
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 This looked like a completely different team from the one we saw in Fenway. Crazy what leaving that dump of a stadium can do for morale
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Merrifield needs to play everyday Yes, he should have been a few weeks ago!
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Bassitt quietly having a great outing. I kept telling everyone Bassitt is sneaky good and don’t sweat a few starts. I believe after this game Bassitt is second to Gausman in SP IPs at 40 vs 42. Bassitt is also tied with Gausman at 5 QS… That’s what you need from SPs especially with our pen.

Yep, but on days when you’re not throwing a QS, can’t let in 8 either.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Yep, but on days when you’re not throwing a QS, can’t let in 8 either. That was just the first game he looked bad like that. He’s been solid ever since. Sure he gave up 4 to Seattle but that was kinda the umps fault.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Bassitt just mentioned that Springer was playing sick for a while, good times ahead I think
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2023 Author Posted May 6, 2023 Wasn't really worried about Bassit. He's going to keep us in games and throw his 180 innings. Did the Jays overpay for him? Probably but you kinda have to do that sometimes. He's just probably more of a 4 ERA guy than the low 3 ERA guy he has been with Oakland and the Mets. Which is more than fine in this division. The Jays should be a team scoring 5 or 6 runs most nights.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2023 Author Posted May 6, 2023 Bassitt just mentioned that Springer was playing sick for a while, good times ahead I think All the underlying numbers suggest George is going to rake again at some point. And we have seen him drill the ball with no results. Infact a lot of his advanced numbers are better than last year and more comparable to His 21 numbers. It will happen for him. Just gotta keep him healthy.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
