That makes sense. He wasn’t looking his normal self at Fenway. I’m not talking ABs etc. Body language, posture, jogging on and off the field, socializing etc..

Wasn't really worried about Bassit. He's going to keep us in games and throw his 180 innings. Did the Jays overpay for him? Probably but you kinda have to do that sometimes. He's just probably more of a 4 ERA guy than the low 3 ERA guy he has been with Oakland and the Mets. Which is more than fine in this division. The Jays should be a team scoring 5 or 6 runs most nights.

 

League average ERA is like 4.30 now. I'd take a 4.30 from Bassitt if it comes with 6 innings most of the time.
