Definitely lost his release point towards the end of the inning there, nice job to still be around the zone enough following the walk even if the command wasn't pinpoint. Just has to trust the stuff is good enough to get hitters out.

Oh nice 5th inning 2 outs, 74 pitches deep and Pop is warming. That makes sense Schneider.

 

In his defense, Kikuchi was starting to unravel a bit and one big swing meant it's now a 1-run game with third time of the order coming up. Now that he got out of it, he should be fine to come back out with a fresh slate.

Just got back from a work meeting.

 

Looks like Kikuchi is one inning of 0 ER away from < 3.00 ERA.

In his defense, Kikuchi was starting to unravel a bit and one big swing meant it's now a 1-run game with third time of the order coming up. Now that he got out of it, he should be fine to come back out with a fresh slate.

 

That's how I took it, seems Pop is our fireman.

Vlady will always be towards the top of the GIDP list with how hard he hits it and Bo getting on constantly in front of him. Not much he can do about that.

 

Yeah man, he hit that 110 MPH... he wasn't even out of the box fully, no chance of being close.

Varsho should be moved down. A guy who is hitting below .200 is not worth batting 5th.

 

He walked the AB before that.. Went 1st to 3rd and then scored a run... Varsho is not an issue on this team. If he is behind a regular catcher you will slow him down also. He almost had a SB the AB prior... Varsho is a slow starter... Least of our worries now..

He's now hitting below .200 as I mentioned.. And he is 7 for 53 in the last 15 games as well. If he's a slow starter, then you can let him bat the bottom of the order.
