Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 Alek's velo is down. Yup. Or a slow gun
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 Should be in the 3rd inning by now 4th, most are in the 4th right now.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 Alek's velo is down. I think he's just learning to calm down a bit in these situations. He has a way of bringing up the velocity later in games.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 Alek also does this typically no? He starts 92 ish and then ramps up over the game.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 Never thought about the fact that there would be new ground rules. I wonder what they are. Good question?
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 Alek also does this typically no? He starts 92 ish and then ramps up over the game. I did hear him say that Verlander told him that's one of his secrets to success, so maybe.
The_DH Verified Member Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 No way that's 90-92. Must be the gun but 3 outs are 3 outs.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 Alek also does this typically no? He starts 92 ish and then ramps up over the game. Thing is he averaged 91.7 last turn through, we'll see.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 Meatball central just missed them
Jarry Verified Member Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 I think Detroit will win this series
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2023 Author Posted April 11, 2023 One thing I really hate about hitters, when they come to bat just deciding before hand they wont be swinging, and watch crushable meatballs go right past them.
Masterbather Verified Member Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 I think Detroit will win this series I don't. So there!
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 All hard hit balls, 99.3, 101.2, 102.2
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 I picked this up a few days ago from a local auction. Thought it was kind of neat! That's cool man, they keep the bars open till close. Hahaha!!!
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 One thing I really hate about hitters, when they come to bat just deciding before hand they wont be swinging, and watch crushable meatballs go right past them. Yep, you could see that Vladdy made that decision after the quick outa before him.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 Look at hazel hanging with the rough crowd
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 All hard hit balls, 99.3, 101.2, 102.2 Yeah it was a quick inning but the pitcher wasn’t really fooling anyone
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 I did hear him say that Verlander told him that's one of his secrets to success, so maybe. Yeah, I remember Verlander often starting out in the low 90's. Late in the game when he started smelling something special, he ramped it up into triple digits.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2023 Author Posted April 11, 2023 Thing is he averaged 91.7 last turn through, we'll see. Avg velo will be seem to be down though if you intentionally keep it on the low end (90-92)for the first half of your pitches, then ramp up (93-95) for the second half. That's just math, and will all depend on how soon/late he flips the switch
