John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 I'm confused! WBC has interesting pitcher limit rules too to ensure the pros dont get over-used. Maximum 65 pitches per game during Pool Play. Maximum 80 pitches per game during the Quarterfinal Round. Maximum 95 pitches per game during the Championship Round. Minimum four days of rest after a 50-pitch outing. Minimum one day of rest after a 30-pitch outing. No pitching back-to-back-to-back days at any point.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 Hmmm. Not sure I like this. As long as he’s smart and doesn’t continue playing if he’s hurting then sure

As long as he’s smart and doesn’t continue playing if he’s hurting then sure Yeah it would be pretty bad optically if he plays in limited games in ST between now and the second round of the WBC (for them that's March 18th) and they allow him to go.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 Should be a fun game to watch I agree it will be a good game but I'm not sure I'd say that it's one of the most highly anticipated sporting events in all of North America this year lol

Suspect it's a bigger deal to fans of team Mexico

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 Are you using Youtube for that game? Its on FS1
philly30 Verified Member Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 If I do bother to watch tournaments like this, I like to root for the underdog countries, unless it some horrible dictatorship, if that makes me un patriotic oh well
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 (edited) Its on FS1 That's an American Channel I don't get. Found it but the Koreans are toast anyhow... http://hd.worldcupfootball.me/mlb/south-korea-live-stream Or not, lol. Australia hang on to squeak past Korea, that's an upset, mind you the Aussies are a decent team. Surprised Ohtani is pitching this morning against China, figured he'd be used against the much better Koreans the following day. Edited March 9, 2023 by Spanky99
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 I completely forgot about Hendriks dealing with cancer, f*** cancer. Netherland move to 2-0 beating Panama respectively, 3-1.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 9, 2023 Author Posted March 9, 2023 Australia hangs on to win Big upset

Laika Community Moderator Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 Italy has a decent roster I guess. Pasquantino, Frelick, Nicky Lopez, David Fletcher, a few other AAAA quality bats, Matt Harvey, Pallante + Festa + Nitolli in relief. Not surprising that they could beat a team that was trotting the remains of Yoenis Cespedes out in LF and cleanup.
