Laika Community Moderator Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 Bauer reiterated that he and the batter met on the Japanese version of Tinder before the game and discussed this type of interaction. Bauer explained his kink for surrendering barrels and facing extreme forms or public humiliation.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 (edited) Wish I had better news for the Bauer Fanboys. He couldn’t hack it with the main league so he’s since been demoted to the Japanese minor leagues and it doesn’t appear to be going very well there either. Catcher probably tipped the batter in Japanese what pitch was coming. Bauer is being Nuke RaRooshed. Edited May 21, 2023 by John_Havok
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 This actually may not be a bad thing if Bauer gets good again. Part of the reason teams may have passed was the risk/reward of signing him. Granted you’d get him for minimum, but if he stunk it up, would it be worth it? Probably not If he could turn it around, it’d give the impression he worked the rust off
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 Japan is ruthless. No mlb team would have demoted him to the minors that fast.

He asked to pitch there after having his start skipped due to a rainout (very common in Japan supposedly) and he went on to give up no more runs, striking out 10 in 6IP.
