Anyone have predictions on when signings and/or trades will start coming in post-Ohtani?

 

I don't expect us to sign him or really field a competitive offer. I'm sure we'll meet with him, but honestly our pitching is not the problem we need to solve.

 

I suspect most of our moves will be via FA, and I'd expect to see something fairly soon. If we really want Bellinger, then I could see us waiting on signing other people until he decides. If not, then I think we'll be fairly aggressive and get at least one or two things done sooner rather than later.

Premium on Yamamoto is going to be quite high. If Jays are signing a pitcher, I would rather pay the lower premium needed to get a guy like Jordan Montgomery, who could very well be as effective or more than Yama

They'll trade him if they think they're getting a player who's just as good, plus other stuff.

I agree. It annoys me to no end that they are going to play a perfectly fine 3B in LF because they already have short stops playing at SS, 3B and 2B. And then they go and sign Candelario to play 1B lol

I was a fan of a Candelario value signing vs paying mega bucks to Chapman. I guess the club is far more heavily invested in retaining Chapman and decided to pass as a Candelario signing would have made a Chapman reunion completely unfeasible.

Wow.. Vlad Jr won the HR derby at the Charity softball game. He got 2 HRs and 8 RBI's in the game. Was the winning manager also...Glad Vlad can win all the BS fluff competitions..

 

Now become one of the top 15 hitters in MLB and maybe I will want to keep you around as DH.
