Some of the posters who were *******s to me for expressing pessimism about our front office in the past are hopefully starting to come to the realization that they've been sold a s*** sandwich.

If not, well then hey I hear there's an orange guy in a whole lot of legal trouble south of the border who could use some money for his defense fund, I'm sure you've already donated though but that doesn't mean you can't donate again!

Let's get real for a minute.

Despite what you think, Atkins f***s up. A lot.

-f***ed up on the Morales contract.

-f***ed up on the Roark contract.

-f***ed up the Jaime Garcia contract.

-Gambled and lost on Yates, despite concerning medical reports on him.

-f***ed up by giving Randall that contract extension. Those that raised the alarm were attacked by the *******s.

-Traded Happ for Billy McKinney and Brandon Drury.

-Traded Stroman for Kay and SWR, the Mets 4th and 6th ranked prospects at that time. Stroman had a sub 3.00 era pitching in the AL East at the time.

-f***ed up the Donaldson situation.

-Overpaid Kikuchi as a free agent.

-Can't build a shutdown bullpen.

-f***ed up the Mitch White/Frasso trade. A few of us voiced alarm but we're shouted down by the *******s.

-f***ed up the Varsho trade. A few of us voiced alarm but we're shouted down by the *******s.

-f***ed up the Anthony Bass situation. Turned it into a PR nightmare.

And that's all just off the top of my head. There's more.

The drafting and development is a joke, especially after the way they threw AA under the bus for supposedly stripping the farm bare.

At least AA could f***ing build a good farm system, and quickly. He was able to sell the farm for the 2013 makeover, and then able to build it back up again in time to acquire Tulo & Price in 2015. And at least his playoff teams were built to win a playoff game.

This FO preached building a sustainable winner that would be keyed around having a steady pipeline of prospects and then resigning them.

Well 8 years in and the farm system blows, we have a luxury tax payroll that is by far the highest team payroll ever, yet we don't have any homegrown talent signed long term. We've had to consistently bring in FA talent from outside the organization because we can't develop talent. This is exactly the s*** they said they wouldn't have to do!

When Atlanta won it's first division title under AA the *******s here talked about how he was gifted a great team and didn't want to give him any credit. Well the Braves are on the way to be a perfect 6/6 in winning division titles under his watch, and they won a world series. And their future looks extremely bright still!

How many times do Spanky and gang have to be wrong before they eat some f***ing crow? Instead you bully and belittle people who don't agree that our team has been run poorly since AA was driven out by Shapiro.

Even in the dark days of the late 90s and early 2000s, at least we had Delgado and Halladay who were a pleasure to watch. This team is annoying as hell to watch.

Baltimore has passed us like we're standing still despite a payroll that is less than 1/3 of ours.

The team needs a rebuild, and this front office better have nothing to do with it.

I've been a die hard fan since 1988 and always will be a Blue Jays fan only, but I think I feel worse about this team's future than I ever have.

/End rant.

I won't be posting here anymore as I'm going to try and take a step back. I've spend too much of my free time on this team. Too many wasted nights. I'm not going to renew my season tickets next year either.

I'll pop by from time to time to read the remaining *******s' rainbow and sunshine posts whenever I need a good laugh. Hopefully some of you come around on this and start to shout down the remaining *******s but I'm not wasting anymore of my time on them.

Enjoy the taste of s*** *******s, especially you Spanx. There's a massive sandwich filled with s*** with your name on it bud. You're a troll, always have been, always will be.

If you stayed with me through to the end of this post you know I'm not all wrong.

I would generally agree with that post if it didn't have so much extra nonsense and just stated the facts. Atkins has been subpar at putting together a winner and has left the farm in bad shape. Full stop.

I think he's fine putting together a 'winner', both in 2016 and 2021-23 he was fine at getting extra pieces from outside organization, in fact great at it. but this organization has been sub-par at the type of development you need to round out an elite roster.

The 21-23 teams would look incredible if Atkins could have developed a bullpen like the Rays or Orioles do. If he could have developed simply 1 starting pitcher, a couple of bullpen arms, and kept Vlad/Kirk* fit and performing to the higher end of expectations no one would have anything to complain about. So it's development including developing young major league stars into consistent players, developing a bullpen, developing starting pitching depth that has been terrible.

I totally realize Vlad/Kirk could turn it around tomorrow, but is anyone on the Orioles obese at all? I wonder how many dieticians are assigned to each player??

Well you nailed some things....went loco on others

Changes definitely need to be made in the front office, hitting and pitching coaches as well

After the tanking since '17, I find getting spanked by the O's extra depressing. I hate the f***ing O's.

Its feels like we are a high priced bloated team underperforming atm. Despite the herky jerky season so far, to still be on an 88 Win pace is wild.

The HOU series was a good high but its seems distant lol. Hoping we can pull out the next couple and get on a more consistent roll.

Easy part of our schedule still coming as well. If they can just figure out how to beast the AL East

If one were the only see the Bluejay content of Bloody Chins posts, I think they would guess wrong on his political affiliation. He seems very angry for a Bud Light supporter. That rage is normally only directed at political foes, not likeminded individuals with regards to rainbows and trees. A bit of an anomaly if you ask me

Do you think the lefties are more positive? Wilner is very left and very positive, same with Stoeten. Kind of the "take the vax, be an allie, Jays still on pace for 95 wins, I mean 92, I mean 88, I mean 85.... kind of guys".

Well, yes. Not in all cases but I think the “everyone gets a trophy” philosophy comes from a certain side. So naturally they’d be a little less cutthroat and mean on results. Just don’t send the wrong Tweet

However, it’s understood that not everyone fits in a box. There’s nothing wrong with generalizing if you know it’s not iron clad

Completely agree. Most hardcore lefties are very forgiving when it comes to their sports teams. It's just a game, after all.

The AA team in 2015 definitely was built better to contend for a World Series. Even the 2016 team as well (Atkins inherited). So far Atkins hasn't built a team that looks like a World Series contender unfortunately.

In 2021, Jays miss the Postseason by one game. In 2022, they lose two in a row at home against the Mariners. So far in 2023, looks like the Jays will be fighting for the WC No. 3 seed. Seems like the Maple Leafs. High expectations and hype at the beginning of every season, but disappointment always at the end.

I think the second half 2021 team was a juggernaut poised to do serious damage in the playoffs. It will always sting that they missed by a single game because that team was really firing on all cylinders after returning home to Toronto. Chances are the pen wouldn't have been good enough for the playoffs (recurring theme with this team) but the team as a whole was hot at exactly the right time.

It would’ve been like 2020, where they went to the playoffs acting like Tampa Bay. Pulling the future CY Young SP to give the ball in the 7th to a guy that would struggle to make a major league roster ever again, because that’s smart baseball

The 2020 team wasn't really a very good team to start with though. The Robbie Ray that was pulled from his playoff start wasn't the same level of pitcher who won a CY Young award a season later and was still more of an unfinished reclamation project.

Doesn’t matter. He was dealing and known for being good when he’s on and not walking ppl. It was a horrendous call to not at least let him go until someone got on base. If you’re handing it over to a 5 FIP guy at least

Pulling Ray wasn't really an issue in my view, the problem was the mediocre reliever that was brought in to follow Ray. The team received a solid performance from both Shoemaker and Ray so that part of their plan worked great. Going to AJ Cole as first man out of the pen in the playoffs was where things went off the rails.

Okay now someone make a rank about everything Atkins has done right

He has a lot of good MLB moves but my problem is they're all band aid moves to mask our terrible player development.

Yeah, that’s the point. It’s ok if you’re giving the ball to someone good.

And they’ve been underperforming for years now. Division hopes are dashed by May. Missed the playoffs entirely 2 years ago

This team is inconsistent. They look great during one series and then look awful during the next. It's frustrating but we're already in the middle of June and and what we've seen to this point is what this team is. They're not one of the elite teams in baseball as they were hyped up to be the last two seasons.

Yeah man

acquiring Chapman and signing Gausman are real bandaid moves

not saying he is great or anything but you could easily put together a list of good moves as long or longer than that Debbie Downer's list of bad moves

Toronto is a consistent contender and WC team in a brutal division. Their front office is probably upper third of MLB, definitely upper half. It would be nice if they were elite. I agree it would be nice.

Yeah same here but sucks one game cost them. Their lineup was clicking on all cylinders and looked downright scary. Hope it doesn't happen again this season.

Completely agree. Most hardcore lefties are very forgiving when it comes to their sports teams. It's just a game, after all.

But if you really have left wing beliefs wouldn't you love the Baltimore Orioles because they are everything leftism represents??

For example the Orioles are led by Yale graduate Mike Elias. In leftism the wise ones trained at ivy league schools are expected to lead our society to a better place. Obama, the Clintons, Bill Gates, Zuckerberg, wise ones who know how to centrally plan a society.

Mike Elias, is clearly demonstrating that ivy league logic, compassion, wisdom and science work. Shouldn't all the lefties be really happy about this? Shouldn't the Justin Trudeau lovers, be confident that Elias' will have great teams, because if you 'trust the science' good things will happen?

Why would a lefty have any faith that the corrupt blue jays, trying to buy solutions to their problems with a 220 million dollar payroll will have any chance against the 50 million dollar a year Orioles who trust the science? (developing baseball players is a science).

I would say league average. Upper 3rd is pushing it.

BETTER:

Rays, Braves, Dodgers, Astros

CLOSE:

Orioles, Yankees, Padres, Giants, Mariners, Twins, Brewers, Guardians, Cardinals

WORSE:

Royals, Athletics, Nationals, Rockies, Tigers, White Sox, Pirates, Red Sox, Angels, Marlins, Phillies, Mets, Diamondbacks, Cubs, Rangers, Reds

A few of those placements will be controversial but whatever. The general picture doesn't change. Put the Yankees in tier 1 if you want, or the Mets in tier 2. Doesn't change anything.
