It's by protocol, nothing they can do.

Dumbest protocol ever, gonna be in the mid to high 20s all week, zero excuses not to have the dome open. Would of been awesome to have it open for our home opener, especially considering it's later then usual this year.

Yeah we can still complain that the protocol is stupid. Gonna be great weather all week but the dome will be closed… for reasons.

Yeah fans will be complaining for sure, especially the casuals. BlogTO probably will write a short blurb about it as well.

I know they don't open the roof until May, but 20 plus degrees this week. Shame they can't open it.

They have to wait until the weather reaches a certain level of degrees celsius, only than they can start heavy machinery safety protocol and tick off the boxes, nothing the organization can do, it's the law. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Will never happen, but if the Jays had a ballpark like in Milwaukee, Seattle, Houston or Arizona, I don't think people would complain as much if the roof is closed since those ballparks still get some natural light in their ballparks.

Considering the teams, would it not have been better if Manoah and Gausman started in the Rays series, i.e. skip a Manoah start?

Gaus/Bassitt/Berrios for Tigers

Manoah/Kikuchi/Gaus for Rays

Same can be done by letting Manoah go today and skipping a Gausman start.

Or is skipping one start detrimental to the rhythm of a pitcher?

You never skip your top starters. If there is an off-day, sometimes team can skip the No. 5 spot in the rotation. Or maybe in a crucial series at the end of the season where you want to set up a rotation to face that team, you might give someone like Gausman or Manoah an extra day or they might pitch on short rest.

Still early in the season as well so better to have guys settle in.

Berrios is confusing. His pitches seem to have the same characteristics as the rest of his career. He's still getting his strikeouts and limiting walks. But he's giving up so many hits.

The barrels are what's concerning, even when his pitches have movement and/or off the plate. Missed fastball locations are one thing, but batters are squaring up the slurves (which shouldn't happen considering what it does).

He leaves a lot of pitches over the plate. His stuff is good which allows him to generate whiffs when he locates. Problem is makes a ton of mistakes and hitters don’t miss them.

Doing some detective work here... but the picture that the Jays posted on Twitter of the inside of the stadium a little while ago shows the little panel in the top left corner open does it not?? I think that usually means they are considering opening the roof when that panel is open....

FB command, he's been leaking too many over the plate.

I’m going to the game tonight. I’m hoping to snag a spot in the new right field bleachers. What would be the best gate to enter at for getting there quickly?

I know the 100 level gates on that side tend to have the longest lines. Would it be better to go to the 200 level gate on that side and hoof it down the ramp to the 100s?

In my experience gates 3/4/5 usually aren’t too busy. The ones next to ripleys but up the stairs a bit. Those gates would have you in the 200s right above RF

That's by far the best gate to get in the game, every damn time now.

What a catch KK

That first angle was great, Bo's reaction in real time like that was awesome to see

Man, what a spectacular catch that was.

Anyone else worried about Manoah? He's down basically 1MPH on all his pitches so far this year and hasn't looked good at all.

Of course.

It's reasonable to be concerned.

I'm not concerned. Is that unreasonable?
