Good for Jose. He was a bit of an odd duck, but was a beast for this org and delivered us an iconic moment in our history. That drive and the crowd reaction still gives me chills.

$100 eBay?

Over or under $50?

Considering this is the 1st and only bobblehead I've ever seen and said to myself "I want one of those" I suspect this will be one of the most anticipated and highest selling ones yet for Jays fans. Lineups will start 5+ hours before the gates open and I suspect people will start off selling them at $200 each, although I bet you could get one for $100 if you wait it out.

Whit Merrifield was out of games since Friday with quad tightness. Not considered serious and he did do full workouts on Saturday. Jays being ultra cautious, nothing to be worried about for him to be ready for opening day.

Is Tiedemann pitching tomorrow?

Apparently his 9 fastballs from outing one registered a 121 Stuff+. That's elite, but need a sample size of 20+ to be meaningful.

I only saw the 1 fastball from his last outing via twitter and I can conclude 100% that his fastball is f***ing elite. No need to see 20 of them. I'm very confident we have Chris Sale on our hands.

Hopefully, i dont think he's pitched since Feb 28th in a game. Might have thrown in a sim game or something though

Speaking of Bautista getting up on the Level of Excellence, isn't a bit overdue for Vernon Wells to be up there?

In terms of Games, HR, RBI, runs... Wells ranks 3rd, 4th, 2nd and 3rd.

I certainly do NOT think of Vernon Wells as being one of the best Blue Jays players ever - regardless of what the counting stats suggest. My memory is tarnished by the huge contract he signed (which is not his fault) and how poorly he played after signing it. I remember thinking AA was the greatest GM in history for being able to move him and that awful contract.

The threshhold for Level of Excellence is an interesting debate. I think I might create a new thread for that.

I'm not sure he should be. He's on the same level as Lloyd Moseby.

Anyone see/hear/read anything about how Mitch Whites bullpen session went a few days ago?

It went fine (40 pitches), but the setback has him not making the team in all likelihood, they want him stretched out as a starter so the IL is pretty much a no brainer according to BNS. So basically Zach Thompson will be the LR to start the year.

Absolute nonsense. They've destroyed the game by taking out the standing around and staring at each other. Why throw 5 pitches when you can throw one.

So he might stay behind in Dunedin and get some more innings. Not a surprise.

No, he will stay back in extended and rehab after that goes all well, they don't think he'll be ready till late April.

Zach Thompson lets them do that.

You have to be nuts to think this wasn't a good idea.

Isn't extended in Dunedin? Think we're saying the same thing. We probably have a few candidates for the long man role: Thompson, Pearson, Zulu?
