Are any baseball writers or publications that ran the original story covering it now? I’m not seeing anything from Passan, Rosenthal, etc.

Of course not, they all got schooled, lol.

Well like most fake news the original story gets covered to no end and the followup corrections get just a fraction of the attention. I did not know that Bauer filed this suit against media outlets nor did I know that it lead to amended stories. Up until this point I had assumed that all the stories about broken bones in the face and other injuries were all basically true.

And that's what is wrong with the world. It's not news at all anymore. No accountability, no recourse. They just print ******** after ******** to suit their narrative.

Really, you believed that horseshit?

No one was reporting otherwise. Overall, I thought that the story was very morally gray because things were consensual but those things also got taken too far, as evident by the subsequent injuries. I didn't mind a suspension but I didn't think it should be two years. If there were no injuries that completely changes things.

There were no injuries, just S/M bruising it seems, this bitch tried to ruin the man's life, pathetic. MLB are lame following the torches and pitchforks, most of those mad, weren't even ballfans. lol

I just saw this

And I've never seen such overwhelming evidence in a case like this. First of all, what an evil ****, and second, how f***ing dumb do you have to be to take a video of yourself after allegedly being assaulted where you are very clearly perfectly fine?

I guess she was really relying on the believe all women s*** and that no one would question anything.

This makes me so mad. It's a disservice to women generally, it's a disservice to the male victims and what kind of ******* is perfectly fine with destroying someone's life for a financial payout?

She belongs in jail. And men really need to consider if hookup culture is a healthy idea.

The only victimization of Bauer here may be from MLB's lengthy suspension.

Not sure why Bauer does not sue MLB for loss of income, possible reason for not doing so is he does not want the evidence in the public domain.

Probably prefers to play in MLB again

If he can't get a job in MLB then maybe he considers suing for something

He clearly has nothing to hide, lol.

Jim's still chucking out hope for Bauer guilt. :D

Not at all, I am just providing balance against all the incels on here painting Bauer as a victim and the woman as the perpetrator. The reality, as Terminator expressed it, is very gray.

I love Jim's takes when a player gets in trouble off field.

He bases his opinion solely on his personal views of the player in question (while heavily weighing what he believes the player's politics are) and whether or not he owns that player in a fantasy league.

Nailed it. Only the weak, think like this.

Everytime a player gets in trouble off field I have been consistent in saying let the process play itself out.

Unlike those on here that say Bauer is innocent, the woman should be in jail, and Franco is guilty.

He may have settled everything to get back on the field, thinking he could play in 2023. Depends how the CBA reads on that kind of thing, where a player can sue outside of the CBA. Idk

Also, highly doubly Franco sees a field in 2024. What’s your guess on that Jim?

There has been so little news on Franco that there can be no other guess than 50/50.

And of course Bauer can sue MLB. The civil suit and countersuit would have no bearing on whether he can get back on the field. Any team could have signed him to play for them in 2023, assuming he had an out clause in his Nippon league deal.

Are you lying or just stupid? The guy became untouchable. He had to move to Korea. I'm sure he lost lots of friends and maybe even family over this. The mob came after him relentlessly every day.

Remember when that pornstar killed herself because she refused to have sex with a gay guy? Oh yeah, the only victimization there was the missed paycheck from that shoot.

f***ing moron.

What I’m saying, and don’t know, is if part of the CBA on suspensions in that’s it’s legally binding. The only thing he could sue for is being blackballed it that case. Not an improper suspension. Not sure if that’s what was being said in regards to him suing mlb

It's possible the arbitration process that Bauer and MLB went through is legally binding.
