BatFlip Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Buying a Rangers jersey tomorrow You can be the first fan with a Heaney jersey. What a stud!
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 So we throw the game tomorrow and cheer for Houston now right Call Manoah up and let him start
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 It is indeed the greatest era for creating degenerate gamblers. Especially now that sports leagues are openly welcoming gambling culture. Doubling the suicide rate will be a breeze. I’m making light of it, but it’s true. Watching it happen to my son and his friends and they aren’t even 21 to be doing it legally on these apps, which are brutally tight opening up an account btw… They’re definitely taking the Uber/Lyft approach to lure them in with promotions and discounts, and then go full retail once they’re in

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Buying a Rangers jersey tomorrow Send one to BTS as well. He would appreciate it I’m sure.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 People feel like they HAVE to gamble to ever own a nice house, haha I think that’s a poor attempt to encapsulate the problem
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 I feel like sports gambling would just make me hate sports. I find it repulsive.
BatFlip Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 I wonder if Heaney ever imagined he'd be carrying the hopes and dreams of an entire nation on his shoulders
Delgalladay Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 That play just gave me wild card flashbacks
BatFlip Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Hopefully this Josh Sborz guy is better than his superficial stats
Delgalladay Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Phew. That helped quiet the crowd and kill any momentum.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 a base hit there would have completely changed that game

I agree with connorp
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Spooky. Those 2 bats up bases drunk. Suarez is 5th in MLB HRs since like 2018. Flies under the radar. Nice pen work.
max silver Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 The rest of this game will be butt clenching time with the s***** Rangers bullpen.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 The rest of this game will be butt clenching time with the s***** Rangers bullpen. Game is over, mate. No custom sample size is getting Seattle out of this mess. They’re cooked
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 We're going to have a massive societal gambling problem 10-20 years from now. Yes. But more like 5. It’s wildfire already. I have a couple friends in their 40s putting their families finances at total risk hiding it from their wives. They started small and just got bigger into it.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 The rest of this game will be butt clenching time with the s***** Rangers bullpen. So if Texas and the Astros win tonight the Astros will try and win tomorrow as they can still win the division. Do we tank tomorrow with the potential of losing and taking the 3rd wild card to face the Twins? I hope the boys get loaded tonight if Texas wins!
Masterbather Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 I feel like sports gambling would just make me hate sports. I find it repulsive. It's fun, in moderation, could make an interesting game out of an otherwise uninteresting game. I'm a fan of the NFL because of my gambling on it in high school. I started watching because of the gambling and just became a fan. I never got sucked into addiction though. I can't even imagine young people today having the ability to click a button at any moment and bet on any aspect of the game at any part of the game on multiple games live. Especially if you just blew a bet and you want to try to get it back quickly. Impulsiveness and accessibility. The death spiral begins. We're in some dangerous times.

What kind of amounts are they betting now?

I think with the games Tuesday they’ll rest players no doubt. They still could run into a win though. Not like they’ll literally tank it
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 I feel like sports gambling would just make me hate sports. I find it repulsive. It's wild. A SP will go like 8 shutout innings in a win, and Twitter will be full of degenerates calling him a worthless sack of s*** because he only K'd 5 and they lost their rent money betting the over on strkeouts.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Agree with Dingleberry. Sports betting ruins it for me. Just gamble on crypto 24/7 instead
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Agree with Dingleberry. Sports betting ruins it for me. Just gamble on crypto 24/7 instead I feel like there’s more science in sports betting. Jokes aside

How long until a professional athlete gets murdered because of gambling? I hope not, I hope it doesn't come to that but people become desperate and crazy.

I just want the team to make the playoffs in the first place. I wouldn't sleep on the Twins given how good their 1-2 punch is at the top of the rotation.
PitaBaby Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 in 2014 when I wasn't following baseball much I bet I think 40 games into the season early may. But I bet 16k on the Brewers to beat the worst team Dbacks. Didn't check pitching matchups. Matt Garza won 8-5 and paid out 10k. I could have filed a chargeback if I lost on bet365. I had just opened an account that night and it paid me out next day. Have done chargeback before with a 3k bet. That was all the money to my name at the time (well all my credit card balance, I didn't have the actual money). It literally is free money. Then I ended up losing 30k in Vegas, also all my money and credit card limits. It's 'free money' until you have to actually pay it back.
