the playoffs shouldn't be too difficult to get a spot in

.... how hard we have to work for these wins, nothing is going to come easy for this team

not difficult, not easy. Easy is what you say when you are in orioles position. and obviously odds are 50 percent, that hasn't changed since the first day of the season, make it or don't, 50 50 as they say.

from what I heard he was trying to hit doubles. really hope him or mookie gets the MVP. don't care about steals with the bigger bag, stupid mittens, clock and new pickoff rules

Sitting on 58 doubles

Only a very few have ever hit 60

I agree the MVP is one of the Dodgers. I’d give it to Mookie he’s having an outstanding season. Everybody knew what the new rules did to stolen bases so it’s not nearly as impressive.

I agree. You also have to factor in that Betts has filled in at SS and 2nd base when needed this year, in addition to RF. Acuna may have lots of SBs, but that needs to be offset by his horrendous defense in RF.

I think this is the deciding factor. Mookie was so valuable covering innings at second and short for them because their middle infield options have actually been pretty s*****. Vargas was bad, Rojas has no bat, Taylor is okay, traded for Gimenez.

He’s the league’s best hitter who can play SS/2B/RF

The rangers are going to be a train wreck again within 2 years and then they’ll need a full rebuild

I'm confused - hasn't Chapman been great for Texas (outside of last night)?

Chapman blew a save against the diamondbacks a week ago when I was watching the game, they sent him back out the next inning and he held it scoreless. He has given up a run in 4 of his last 5 appearances with the rangers. He was pretty good all of July and a lot of august though.

Well this is an excellent time for him to suddenly suck

Chapman's still got it... His blowups seem magnified and more substantial because it always seems to happen in crucial games.

I wish he'd just sign a multi-year deal instead of playing footsie with retirement every year. It causes undue stress to us dynasty managers.

Yanks are calling up Jasson Dominguez and the Mets are calling up Ronny Mauricio

Panic move for NYY. Nothing about Dominguez' performance this year suggests he's ready to handle MLB pitching.

He was fine as a setup guy but when asked to close he's now vomiting all over himself.

But imagine being in that clubhouse fighting and clawing for the playoffs and the guy you traded is literally the best pitcher in baseball in the last 30 days and he was pitching mop up for you last month LOL

I think it's a "give the fans something" move more than anything

They had Chapman intentionally walk Alonso that inning. Pretty dumb IMO. Puts more pressure on a guy with s*** command.

Doesn’t make sense on paper, but I expect him to magically turn into something

Yeah that perception sucks, but I would suggest by looking at the numbers that this is all a SSS statistical anomaly that is just f***ing Texas over at a terrible time. I doubt Ragens is really this good (minor league numbers certainly suggest that) and I doubt Chapman is this bad (he's the 4th best RP in baseball this year [2nd best xFIP] and obviously has a f***ton of experience closing).
