Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Yankees’ Jimmy Cordero Suspended Remainder Of Season Under MLB’s Domestic Violence Policy July 5th, 2023 at 12:11pm CST • By Steve Adams Yankees reliever Jimmy Cordero has accepted a suspension for the remainder of the regular season and the 2023 postseason under MLB’s domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse policy, per a league announcement. He’s been placed on the restricted list. Cordero will not be paid and will not count against the team’s 40-man roster while on the restricted list. Saw this dude up close in person warming in the pen at the dome… he’s f***ing massive. Lets hope he didn’t actually hurt anyone
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 I mean they ARE except they have inexplicably swept the Blue Jays twice. Pretend Toronto went 4-3 in those 7 games as they should have and Boston is 39-47 while Toronto is 50-36. One might say that at this moment in time Toronto's entire season is dictated and described by having blown two series against the worst team in their division. Correct that historic fumble and Toronto is tied with Baltimore while Boston is set for another top 10 draft pick. 1-12 against the Redsox and Os. If they go 6-7 instead the standings look WAY different. Absolute failure

Is it just me or does this happen disproportionately to the Yankees
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Is it just me or does this happen disproportionately to the Yankees Not just you. Their player creed requires clean shaven faced but evidently no character analysis or background checks.

MikeM3 Verified Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 People were already claiming that they’re a better team than the Jays right now Well they are.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Depends. Im sure some quotes could be found from some that might be interpreted as WS threats. They have been annointed one of the great organizations in baseball by some. Their long term outlook looks very promising with the young core of positional players they have. I don't see why that is an issue or the problem with saying that.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Gausman Oh wait. They wasted their chance with him years ago..... Gausman came up with the Orioles haha, doubt they would have brought him back. But yeah, better than saying they missed out Bassitt so will give you that one haha
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 People were already claiming that they’re a better team than the Jays right now LMAO they are. Look at the standings.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 They won’t do s*** at the deadline, as always I mean last trade deadline all the Jays had to show for was Anthony Bass, Zach Pop, Whit Merrifield and Mitch White!
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 1-12 against the Redsox and Os. If they go 6-7 instead the standings look WAY different. Absolute failure Agreed. They could have went 1-12 against two other teams as well, so regardless. This team needs to start playing better period if they want to make the Postseason. So far, given the talent on this team, they've been a disappointment.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 The Orioles are showcasing these guys for arms at the deadline, they will get better. Life of Living in The Beast that is the East!

But simple logic isn’t so simple anymore.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Also, you Baltimore bag lickers make me nauseous.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 LMAO they are. Look at the standings. Do standings at the all-star break mean team A is better than team B?? There are lots of games left. Hit me up at the end of the season.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 LMAO they are. Look at the standings. Do standings at the all-star break mean team A is better than team B?? Results-wise sure, but that won’t be the case going forward. There are lots of games left. Hit me up at the end of the season.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 I mean last trade deadline all the Jays had to show for was Anthony Bass, Zach Pop, Whit Merrifield and Mitch White! Which paid good dividends, save for White(plenty left in the tank to see what we have here), what's your point?

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Also, you Baltimore bag lickers make me nauseous. Refreshing change from Tampa for now
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Refreshing change from Tampa for now That hasn't went anywhere... dumn-dumn, and no.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 I mean last trade deadline all the Jays had to show for was Anthony Bass, Zach Pop, Whit Merrifield and Mitch White! All-Star Whit Merrifield
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Do standings at the all-star break mean team A is better than team B?? There are lots of games left. Hit me up at the end of the season. Not necessarily but usually the standings at the end of June or beginning of July are a good indicator on the kind of team you have. Orioles likely will be in contention for one of those 3 WC spots or maybe miss out by a couple of games. They're not going to be below .500 this season. So yeah so far the Orioles have been the better team and have actually dominated the Jays so far in their matchups. Jays could definitely surpass them in the standings come the end of the season, not denying that. Though to walk around here all confident saying that the Jays are a much better team when they're 4 GB the Orioles approaching the All-Star Break, I mean the Blue Jays need to start playing better in order for that to happen.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Which paid good dividends, save for White(plenty left in the tank to see what we have here), what's your point? Bass wasn't all that good while here and he was chased out with pitch forks last month. Pop definitely has some nice potential long term, but didn't make a huge impact last season and really hasn't this season. Merrifield last season didn't do much, but this season he definitely has been a really solid contributor.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 All-Star Whit Merrifield Yeah Merrifield has been solid this season. Last season he really didn't make much of a difference down the stretch or in the Postseason was the point I was trying to make.
